Badgers fire their OC

This would have happened if Gary Andersen had his way in Madison. Barry stepped in and squashed the previous Dairy Raid attempt.

New OC will be looking at this next season.

Assuming Indiana isn't just a one hit wonder that has the potential to be a brutal schedule. Even if Indiana does revert after this year they still play Alabama, Oregon and Ohio State. Michigan is likely to get better plus they get teams like Iowa, Illinois and Us who are usually solid and miss out on most of the bottom feeders....

Couldn't happen to a better team :)

I guess we'll find out over the next few weeks whether it's the coordinator or the head coach if our experience in 2018 was any kind of indicator

I haven't looked into it but this feels like maybe there was something going on behind the scenes because it is an odd time to fire your OC coming off 3 really tough games with your backup QB at the helm.

I mean they have played Penn State, Iowa and Oregon in their last 3 games. Offense hasn't played well in any of those games but it isn't like they were up against bad teams either.

I did not realize he was the OC at MN-Duluth back in 06-07.

Things seem to be going well

Geez... sounds like Coach Fickell is playing the victim.

If P.J. Fleck ever said anything even remotely self-pitying as this, what kind of response would it have received from Gopher fans and local media?

It almost sounds as if Fickell is pining for happier days, back at Cincinnati.

LOL

Luke Fickell was asked who will be calling plays for the #Badgers going forward:

"Why does it matter? I don't think it's really important. I guess it gives you the ability to point the finger at someone."

Hard to beat if it's good quality.
D’Artagnan was the brand I had today.

Based in NJ and they’re available via specialty grocers in NYC and they ship nationwide. Definitely not inexpensive, but they offer some decent intro discounts and periodic deals via text; the quality is premium, as good as I’ve ever tasted.

Sconnies open as 2.5 point road dogs at Lincoln.
One of those teams gets to bowl eligibility on Saturday......don't really want to pull for Nebraska but the fansbase has suffered long enough...at least let them go enjoy a bowl game....it's been such a long long long long time.

Just a reminder Ohio State has had one losing record since 1989. Head coach: Luke Fickell.
The run of success Ohio State has had is crazy and it makes Fickell's year stick out even more. They went 12-1 the year before and 12-0 the year after but in his lone season as head coach they went 6-7.

In fairness he was thrust into a weird situation with Tressell resigning but it is kind of telling when the guy right before you and right after you have great seasons.

Time will tell if he is the savior the Badgers thought he was going to be. Right now he is struggling to even get back to the Paul Chryst level that got him fired.....

And the other team is shitsconsin. Tough one, but if I have to choose one, I have to go with cornnation guy. Although seeing his hair on fire would be fun to see.

"Struggling" is an understatement. In fact, he's not in the same zip code as Chryst.

Chryst at Wisconsin: 67-26 (.720)

Fickell at Wisconsin: 13-11 (.541)

Has a long way to go to get close to Chryst's overall success at Wisconsin but he isn't far off from the records that Sconnie fans said were unacceptable and were the reason that Chryst had to go.

Wisconsin is stupid for running a true air raid offense. If they were smart they would get the fullbacks and TEs back and run air raid concepts while having the classic punch you in the mouth power run game

Chryst was 9-4 (.692) in his last full season at Wisconsin. Obviously, I can't speak for Wisconsin fans in general, but if 9-4 is what they deem as unacceptable then Fickell's record should have them readying the torches and pitchforks..
