Women's Basketball Week is next week. Sometimes there's some info coming from the coaches teleconference even though there's a pretty shallow pool of media members.
Now in its third year, the Big Ten Women's Basketball Week has taken the traditional preseason media day event and expanded it into a full week of coverage dedicated entirely to all 14 Big Ten women's basketball programs. What's more, the complete Big Ten Women's Basketball Week content package is available online and on demand, whether here on bigten.org, through the Big Ten's social media channels or on BTN's digital platform, BTN2Go, and the FOX Sports mobile app.
This year's Big Ten Women's Basketball Week not only features exclusive interviews with the 14 Big Ten women's basketball coaches and selected students from each conference program, but also offers in-depth interviews with ESPN's Adam Amin (the voice of the NCAA Women's Final Four) and BTN's lead women's basketball analyst, Christy Winters Scott, previewing some of the key storylines and people to watch during the 2018-19 Big Ten women's basketball season.
Big Ten Women's Basketball Week tips off Monday, Oct. 22, with the announcement of the preseason All-Big Ten teams and Big Ten Player of the Year, as well as the preseason rankings, according to balloting by the conference coaches and a select media panel. Other highlights of the week include an interactive Twitter chat with several Big Ten women's basketball students on Thursday, Oct. 25 (conducted by Doug Feinberg, the Associated Press national women's basketball writer and coordinator of the AP Top 25 poll), the annual coaches' preseason media teleconference on Friday, Oct. 26 (fans can listen to the audio playback later that day) and the B1G Women's Basketball Preview Special (presented live on the Big Ten Network) at 4 p.m. (ET) on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Make sure to visit the Big Ten's social media channels (using the hashtag #B1GWBBall), including the conference's women's basketball Twitter (@B1GWBBall), Facebook (/BigTenConference) and Instagram (@bigten) pages, as well as the BTN2Go digital platform and FOX Sports mobile app for Women's Basketball Week coverage. All content will first be posted on the Big Ten's social media channels, with links subsequently provided -- dates/times listed are Eastern and subject to change.
Gopher times (ET):
Preseason Polls 1:00 PM on the 22nd.
Whalen video interview: 2:00 PM on the 23rd.
Kenisha Bell video interview 2:00 PM on the 24th.
