We get the team we know best. And after the Huskers...Maryland.

The ever popular theme of "it is hard to beat a team three times in one season". And, it is much harder if you are trying to do it with seven players, which is what we will have if everyone who missed the Illinois game is still out and we don't have Sissoko back.

Don't under estimate any team playing against the depleted gopher squad. Game plan pack it down, double Carr and let gophers shoot 3s.

Exactly who might be unavailable remains a question.

“We’re still honestly going through things this afternoon, working on who will be available,” coach Lindsay Whalen said Tuesday afternoon from Indianapolis. “It will probably be some game-time decisions tomorrow, but we’ve got a few that are out for extended periods of time.”

Sophomore Kadi Sissoko, the Gophers’ most dynamic forward, was lost in the third quarter when she banged her head on the court after pulling down an offensive rebound and was taken to the locker room.

Sissoko averaged 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in her past 10 games but her availability is uncertain

“I’m not going to say much. She’s doing better, though,” Whalen said. “She’s going better. She’s improved, but it was definitely a hard fall.”

The Minnesota Gophers women's basketball team faces Nebraska in their first game of the Big Ten Tournament.

Head coach Lindsay Whalen talked about how healthy the team is heading into the tournament, how tough it is going to be to defeat Nebraska for a third time this season, how to stop Nebraska's offense, if she anticipates the team will be shorthanded against the Cornhuskers, how happy she was for Jasmine Powell and Sara Scalia to get All-Big Ten honors, and how valuable Scalia is to the team.

Senior Gadiva Hubbard spoke about the keys to defeating Nebraska twice already this season, what the team needs to do to defeat them a third time, if she is doing anything different for the early 10 am tipoff of the game, how she was able to have success against Nebraska this season, how she is mentally preparing to be shorthanded in the game against Nebraska, and if she has thought about using her waiver to come back for the Gophers next season.

Husker radio just said Scalia is out with a shoulder injury from yesterday's practice. And that Sissoko is also out.

Ugh, next person up I guess. All 3 average double figures scoring tough to replace.

Over half our points not playing today. Smith has to become more of a scorer today.

Minnesota really slowing it down for good reason, gonna have to really defend today

Getting good looks, shots just not falling Unfortunate as they need every point.

Need some perimeter shooting, can’t get the ball into our posts. Need to loosen up the defense. Played well until the final minute.

Lol, the announcers seem to have decided that Nebraska will be playing MD.

Well today will be good experience for our youngsters at least.

Mershon went out and defense fell apart. Yes not a good game by Sconiers and Hubbard shots coming up short.

How come the game’s not playing on 96.7 as advertised?

Nothing they can do about it since they dont have any backup guards but this 3 big lineup isnt gonna score much

It probably would be a blessing to lose today. We could lose by 50+ to Maryland.

We could use Strande's scoring and rebounding in this game. Why is she not playing?

This line up is offensively challenged and we desperately need Hubbard, Sconiers and Smith who all have played big minutes to score.
