Big Ten standings.

Biggest suprises. Maryland with a talented roster, but I don't think anyone had them finishing 2nd in their first big ten season.
Next I would say Painter and Purdue really had a good season.

Biggest disappointments. I am down on the gopher season, but stepping back I would say Nebraska had to be more disappointing. I would say the gophers and Michigan were also in that conversation after them. Michigan losing Levert explains most of that.

Michigan has a silver lining in their disappointing season, though. Remember they also lost Walton due to injury. As a result of those injuries, a couple of freshmen played more this year than they would have otherwise and showed they could contribute. If Levert doesn't leave for the draft (and no one transfers), Michigan will return everyone and should be in great shape next year. Because of Michigan's success in recent years, they could afford to have a year like this anyway.

On the other hand, Nebraska's outlook may be dimmer than ours. If I were Petteway, I would declare for the draft rather than come back to a team that could be mediocre again. He's still listed on a number of mock draft boards. They also lose a couple of seniors who played significant minutes. Like us, they do have some talent coming in next year but probably no better than ours.
