It's just a little much for volleyball -- which is struggling to get the respect women's basketball gets by default -- to continually milk the success of Husker volleyball. Is that the only team worth all the extra publicity? Well, Penn State, I guess.
What does amaze me even more, is that they didn't put these matches somewhere closer to Lincoln/Omaha. No doubt, their fans, lemmings that they are, will follow. Good for Chicago tourism?
Anyhow, the point is that there are other (good) programs out there who would benefit from the exposure. That is how you grow the sport. You don't do it by fixating on one program. It's already headed to its logical conclusion: Nebraska is the only volleyball program that will generate anything close to a profit.
They don't need any more advantages! I will grant you that they have earned a lot of this. But, man, the media and the powers-that-be play a huge role.
