Michigan to face Baylor in Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- For the second time in the last three seasons, the University of Michigan women's basketball team will participate in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase, taking on Baylor in a rematch of the Sweet 16 from this past season, it was announced Thursday (May 27). The teams will meet at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Dec. 19.

"We are excited to return to Mohegan Sun to play in the Hall of Fame Women's Showcase again," head coach Kim Barnes Arico said. "We had a great experience as a team at the event in 2019 and look forward to the same this year. It will be a tremendous opportunity for us to challenge ourselves at the end of our non-conference season, as we prepare for our Big Ten schedule."

Michigan and Baylor will face each other for the second straight season after the Lady Bears edged U-M in overtime in the NCAA Sweet 16, pulling out a 78-75 win. It will be the third meeting for the teams since 2018.

Any thoughts?

For the home and home series I worry that they could go 0-4 vs Iowa and MSU, it seem MSU always have our number.

For home games they could steal games from OSU and NW as both teams lost a lot. Would be nice to play and beat the ILLINI at full strength for once.

For away games maybe could steal a game at Purdue who lost a lot and maybe PSU although I think PSU is rapidly improving. I think the Gophers are capable of at least 10-8, but they need to start beating some of the elite teams in the conference.

Go Gophers!

Glad to see Maryland and Northwestern home only. That could be ugly.

Looks like according to the Nebraska write up that the Big Ten will have some conference games the week of December 4th-10th?

Kinda shocking that with that talent, Bluder isn't challenging them more. It's hard to believe Clark signed on so she could face the likes of NH.

I understand Illinois doing it because they arent making any post season so racking up as many wins as they can is important but Rutgers should wanna make the big dance. With the NCAA going to the net system, wins over quad 3 and 4 teams are pretty meaningless and losses to quad 1 teams dont really hurt you so I dont understand why they would play so many games against bad teams.

...and, on top of that, CVS has very recent inexperience in a bad schedule leading to her deserving team missing out on the NCAAs. Really dumb.
