At full strength, Indiana volleyball would have four middle blockers. However, the current roster is down to just two.
Junior middle blocker Ava Vickers has been dealing with an offseason surgery that has sidelined her all season with the exception of two matches. Sophomore middle blocker Ella Boersema went down with a leg injury in the Hoosiers’ loss to Purdue on Oct. 16.

Minnesota hit .412 for the night
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The No. 20 Minnesota volleyball team took down the No. 23 Indiana Hoosiers in four sets on Friday night at Wilkinson Hall. The set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 18-25, 25-19.

The victory was Minnesota's 15th straight over Indiana and their first top-25 ranked win of the season.

Carly Gilk (12) and Kelly Kinney (15) led the offense with career-highs in kills. Stella Swenson paced the offense with a career-high 49 assists and five service aces. Julia Hanson went for 17 kills on .441 while Jordan Taylor had nine kills and Lourdes Myers went for eight. Minnesota hit a scorching .412, their second-best tally of the season and best of Big Ten play.

Big win for the Gophers over a ranked team on the opponents home court. Many players had big games. A hiccup in the third set after two tough sets. But, they regrouped to closed out the match.

Gophers have a lot of matches coming up against ranked teams and starting Sunday. Go Gophers.

My favorite thing about tonight's match, other than the win, was that the players looked like they were having fun. Lots of smiles, even in the 3rd set.

The team is finally showing signs of life after all the changes due to injuries. Hats off to the Coaches and the players for making successful adjustments.
