Up Next: The Badgers will return to the UW Field House to take on No. 20 Minnesota on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m. CT for Yes, Sheff! Night. The first edition of the 2025 Border Battle will be televised on FS1.

It is never easy when we travel to Wisconsin and I'm afraid this will be no different. Wisconsin will also be playing several Freshmen. However, they can and do score a lot more from the right side than the Gophers.

When it comes to the middles, Myers needs to show up for this entire match. I sure hope Pedro has done his homework and has JT ready to compete against Booth.

The Badger fans will really be into this and we need to immediately "come out of the gate" serving our Border Battle Foes tough taking them and their fans out of the match. Hopefully, our Gophers can keep this pressure on throughout the match. I feel it is crucial for a Gopher win.

So far I'm not finding tonight's match a surprise at all. In this stretch of our schedule our coaches really need to find a way for us to have more than Hanson as an offense. Is it the passing, setting and/or hitting?

IMO the double sub is an absolute useless move. I fail to understand it's purpose.

I can't keep track of the substitutions and rotations watching on BIG+. It puzzles me how Gilk and Kinney can get hot and then we don't see anything from them for stretches. A strategy for beating Minnesota is to let Hansen get her 20 kills because the other hitters and middles won't hurt you much. Wisconsin was very good at getting high touch kills; the ball would go so high off the blocks that our backs couldn't get them. Gilk and Kinney haven't learned how to deal with blocks. Hanson is great. While she is in the air, she can see what is in front of her and alter her shot because she is so flexible. The Gophers have periods where they do great digging and passing; then it goes away. I don't know whether they get worn down or the other team figures them out. They then get out of sorts and perhaps frustrated. I do think they can become a very strong team if they don't lose confidence over the next stretch of games.

Pedro has to be frustrated as hell because he probably sees Swenson making great sets to the middles during practices, but when she doesn't connect with them early in matches she just completely goes away from it for long stretches.

You are absolutely correct.

IMO Swenson is not getting any better and not the same setter that started the season. The schedule is getting tougher and she has regressed.

Both Pedro and Crissy are doing their best in their coaching.....middles and back court/serving. However, it is the opposite with Cook and Nellie. I don't see any consistency (outside of Hanson) with our pins and setting. Are there COACHING ADJUSTMENTS being made at all during these matches with any of our players? If there are, I am missing them.
