Too many other good shooting options to have her continue to throw up bricks. 1-13 or 1-14 I lost track.
 






I hope we don’t have to play Wisconsin again this year. It’s usually an ugly game. I think Badgers make the Big Ten Tournament. Gophers needed this win. Maybe warm LA sunshine will warm up their shooting. Not expecting victories out west but would like to see competitive games.
 




Great to beat Wisconsin. A tale of two halves. G.G. kept the Gophers in it in the first half. Gophers played a smothering defense in the second half. They took Wisconsin out of the paint in shooting and rebounding, and Wisconsin couldn't answer with outside shooting. Hart and Heyer caught fire. Battle and McKinney turned the screws on defense. Good win.
 






It was a struggle in the first half but we made adjustments and held the Badgers to 2 points in the first 8 minutes of Q3. Too much pearl clutching in here. Why can't y'all be happy with a 20+ point win? We're doing this without Mara and Woodson, too.
 


We really needed Sophie Hart to come up big today and she did. Always enjoy it when the Gophers beat the Badgers. Goldy Gopher had a waste bin or garbage can with a sign that had popcorn box background and said Badger Gear here with an in arrow. Like deposit here. Thought that was funny. The popcorn box was a nice touch.
 


Great second half! I don’t want to comment about the first half then I would be deemed negative and would be directed to the Bucky Board…
 



2 Straight against Bucky and also second straight game holding them to 50.

HUGE S/O to OUR help defense on Sarah Williams ESPECIALLY in the 2nd half only allowing her to score 4 POINTS a basket in each quarter.

GG 3 ball was much needed especially in the 1st half. had 14 of her 17 in the 1st.

Mal seems to be healthy and back to herself which was MUCH needed today. Her 3rd double double of the season and her 14th of her career. Mal had some really really nice slashes/cuts to the basket today and we GOT IT to her!

Sophie played her 2nd straight great game against Sarah, imho out played her today as Sop finished with 16/5/4 and made all 6 of her ft's

Gosh I LOVE Tori defense and she's only going to get better!

Amaya shot was OFF OFF but maybe her shoulders were tired from Wednesday when she was doing so much of the lifting against Michigan, but still her defense created a good amount of steals..

a B1G B1G win before heading out to the west coast.. could we be like Northwestern and just say we are good? and skip these?

Sophie was terrific today. She fearlessly and effectively took on Serah Williams, who is one of the best post players in the Big Ten, if not the entire country. I'm very impressed Sophie kept up with her (16 points each and 5 vs 6 rebounds)! And props to Battle for the few steals she got when they were trying to pass Williams the ball.

Great game overall. You can't win every quarter of every game, but glad the Gophers were able to storm out of the gate in the second half for the big win. It's not easy to rack up a 21 point margin in just 20 minutes.
 

Agree Sophie played very well she stepped up and it was night and day to how she played Williams last year

The bottom 5 teams in the conference are combined 3-41 in conference play. Wisconsin has one of the 3 wins.

The new BIG schedule makes the bottom seem worse. In previous years, the BIG scheduled extra double plays among the bottom teams, but now only Penn State and Rutgers get a bottom-bottom double play (against each other).
 

Terrific crowd. Full student section, which is very nice. After being tied at the half I thought if we could just increase the percentage of shots made we would be okay enough to win. Assumed Williams would get 12 more, she didn't, and we win by 21 while Battle was having a off game. It seemed like Heyer cutting to basket was there most of the night and they found her.

Mal cuts a lot to the basket.. it's just sometimes we don't see her.. seems like that was a THING today was to look for her because they found her at least 4 times..
