convinced we win in Minneapolis or just with better refs!
 

Maryland couldn't wait for this game to get over. Go Gophers! We lost but this might be a definitive moment of the season.
 

What a comeback. Nit picking but Battle passing to Rose when they needed a 3 pt shot? I think Gophers proved they are a top 25-30 team. Missing a go to scorer to be an elite Big Ten team.
 

Wow! Extremely proud of this team for their effort tonight! With all the home call calls, Maryland shooting 53%, 45.5 % from 3PT and 100% (IMPRESSIVE!) 21-21 we still continued and and gave it a run too the end.
 



IF Tori doesn't foul out with 4 minutes left or Mal with 3.. we win this game..

annoyed that Mir scored 9 points when she had scored 2 TOTAL points in the last 3 games total..
 


Good game. Can't wait to see MI in the Barn next Wednesday.

Don’t remember the last time we had three starters foul out with one having a black eye. 25 MN fouls.
Coach P is making them tough.
Need to take the grit and beat Northwestern. Must win!
 

Same issues, missing easy layup which leads to forced threes also just got dominated on the boards in the second half. All in all, not too bad clean up some of those mistakes and we're definitely a contender.
 

Really competitive game and nice close out with 16-0 run. Really no point in the game did I get frustrated or feel they didn’t belong. Excellent team ball.

Agree that Battle gets too team oriented at times.

Tori is a star that will only get better. Has to learn to not foul and you can’t try to take too many charges. Run the risk of easy fouls. Timely charges are great. She will only improve.

Heyer is a worrier playing 84 straight and knocking down shots

Hart gave them issued all night on the block.

Depth is huge. 11 MN kids! Really nice young talent.

Random thoughts: Loved the effort. Loved that the Gophers never quit. Terps were ridiculously hot from beyond the arc in the second half, refs weren't kind to the Gophers. Sellers is a terrific leader for the Terps. Even though she is an all-conference player, I feel like she is underrated. Gophers have a chance to win the next 3 games before the dreaded trip to California. (Dreaded by me, not necessarily the team.) Despite the effort, this one is an L in the loss column and the Gophers need to avoid a slip-up against the Wildcats. Really like the way the Gophers are playing. Love the depth. Love the way they're being coached.
 

Gophers were the first team of the year to put 90+ points against Maryland. Maryland was extremely hot shooting. If not I think we get the W. Now just have to be ready so we don't have a let down @ NW. Need to get that road W as they almost took down Indiana at Home.
 

Fantastic game last night! I didn't expect it to be so close against the powerhouse that Maryland is this year. It makes me wonder what would have happened if McKinney hadn't been in foul trouble so early and if Stewart had played closer to her average of 16 minutes instead of just the 6 she got. I was wondering if she was sick or something, given they ruled her "Questionable" before the game.

Oh well, sometimes there are just some things you can't control. Still a great effort given what they were up against!
 

Also appreciated the fact that when the Gophers made their comeback, it was not against a bunch of subs. The Maryland starters were still on the floor. I remember Sellers pounding the ball on the court in frustration.
 

I saw Heyer get smacked in the face. She grabbed her forehead and the refs looked away. Then later the announcers comment on her black eye like it's part of the game. Then at the end of the game they spend all that time on Stewart's potential foul. If that should have resulted in ejection (it didn't) then the hit to Heyer should have been reviewed at a minimum, and maybe a flagrant issued.
 

Man I hope whoever reviews officials take a look at this game. Not saying they would have won but it wasn’t a very fair fight. I wanna go back and watch but when Maryland went on their run wasn’t there different rotations from the Gophers that aren’t part of the regular rotation? Love the fight at the end tho, had every right to give up but didn’t. Hopefully this can be a motivator to finish strong.

I agree regarding the officiating. When's the last time Tori AND Mallory fouled out of a game.
 




I got around to watching the replay of this game today. Among other things, I think that is the best we've seen from Hart when playing in a fast paced game against a team with good quickness. I can't recall a time when she has been able to get to rebounds against a a speedy team better than she did here.

You have to absolutely love the effort in this game. They were aggressive on both ends and didn't slow down when they got behind.

And yes, Sellers is a terrific player but she makes me feel ancient. :) She doesn't look anywhere near old enough to be in college.
 


And now Shyanne Sellers has a knee injury as well.
