B1G Game 6: Gophers host UCLA 1-14-26

Wasn’t expecting a win, thought we would be more competitive but without McKinney was tough. Most of the season Braun’s and Battle’s scoring was been absent but they were hitting shots but the rest of the team was off. Against good teams the whole team cannot seem to click offensively

IMO.. UCLA played their B- game..IMO hard to gauge anything good or bad about this game… Number one focus for UCLA stop GG.. the number two focus stop GG… I doubt they worried much about Battle and Braun… IMO

I have not seen Betts often, but I was not impressed. If she can’t outmaneuver Hart, she is in for a rough time in the big show. I hope the Lynx look elsewhere.

As for those who dissed the idea of Cristian because GG couldn’t get open, adding a 3 threat makes everyone a little more open. Missing McKinney meant one less player to cover outside. You don’t have to cover Hart, Tonga, and Glenn past 6’ from the hoop. Mixing in a little more Cristian in the rotation would open things up somewhat.

I tend to watch her when she is in there. Her defense looks acceptable, she has some height, and seems comfortable inside. Her range is infinite, but it’s very very hard to shoot a BB looking over your shoulder to see if your replacement is already getting up. I realize she is on a roster of upperclassmen but this team has definite offense weaknesses and maybe she could mitigate them?

Lastly, score down in the teens, and inside 5 minutes and the starters are still in. That’s silly, if for no other reason that if your bench is as short as it seems by your rotations, then you should be saving the legs of the few capable starters you have?

UCLA was pretty darn good, they had no weak spots in their line up. If the gophers messed up on defense against any UCLA player they would make you pay. With the gophers having a hard time scoring last night their margin of victory was slim.
I'm not a big fan of our offense, it is so ball dominant. Somebody has to dribble the ball for a bit before anything happens. How many times did the person bringing the ball up the court take the shot, not one pass. Ain't going to work.

Yep.. Kneepkens scoring wasn’t needed and JacqueZ the same… nice squad

What didn't you like about UCLA's game? A few too many turnovers but other than that I thought they played well.
