Hawkeyes have been so much better than I thought they would be after losing Gustafson, Stewart, and Davis to graduation. Bluder is a very underrated coach. Also, her player Doyle often flies under the radar. She's a "heart and soul" player who brings it every game.
 

PSU is hanging with NW early in the second.
MICH doubled up Iowa at the end of first.
 

Czinano, coming back from her ankle injury, did not start and played limited minutes in the first half.
 


Really annoying that the Indiana game at the Barn, less than two weeks away, is still listed as a TBA game time (presumably because of TV). Hey, athletic department, some of us might like to make some Saturday plans.

I agree. I contacted fan relations about it last week, and they told me the earliest the game time will be announced is February 11th. So, hopefully we will find out tomorrow...

A little more than two weeks ago, No. 19 Northwestern played like one of the best teams in the Big Ten and beat Michigan State 76-48.

Meeting again Monday night at Welsh-Ryan Arena, the Wildcats went into their second matchup against the Spartans with a similar game plan to that January win. However, there was one key difference this time: coach Joe McKeown would not be on the sidelines orchestrating his team’s performance.

McKeown missed Monday’s game due to an illness, forcing NU to elevate assistant coach Kate Popovec — a former Cats player who joined the staff in 2017 — to be its interim coach.

But McKeown’s absence didn’t impact NU’s (20-3, 10-2 Big Ten) success, as the team won 85-55 over Michigan State (11-12, 4-8), completing a season sweep of the Spartans for the first time since the 2014-15 season.

Junior guard Lindsey Pulliam and sophomore guard Veronica Burton shined — scoring 31 points and 23 points, respectively — and the Big Ten’s second-best scoring defense held Michigan State to its second-lowest scoring total of the season.

Ohio State down by ten early in the fourth came back to defeat Indiana 80-76 in Bloomington. The Buckeyes fought through foul trouble with Patty and Juhasz fouling out and Bell playing with four. (Referees were Roy Gulbayen, Jeff Cross and Tiffany Bird). Indiana was 28-36 from the line.

Indiana was bothered late in the game by the OSU zone. Madison Greene led Ohio State with 22 points including a late game, shot clock running out, twisting toss that killed Hoosier hopes. It was the Buckeyes 14th straight win in the series according to the play by play guys.
 

Northwestern's 9-0 run closed out a 60-56 win over visiting Nebraska. With the score tied at 56 and under 45 seconds to play a Husker pass found Kate Cain all alone under the bucket for a layup; BUT Cain tried to pass to Verbeek. The pass was stolen and the Wildcat's Pulliam knocked down a jumper in front of a pretty good crowd.
 



Michigan handled Illinois in Ann Arbor 80-59. Illinois made it interesting for awhile; but the game highlight was a dust-up between the Illini's Ali Andrews and Michigan's Hailey Brown. Brown was ejected with a double technical and Andrews received a technical. Illinois' Jeanae Terry was involved in the spat and was called for her fifth foul.

Brown's second technical I assume was because she had to be restrained by the refs.
 

Northwestern beat Wisconsin 82-66 in an early game today.

Northwestern (15-2) keeps its title hopes alive defeating Ohio State (10-7) 69-55. It was the second straight loss for the Buckeyes and the second straight game with Kiersten Bell out for personal reasons.

Bell expected to play versus Purdue:
