B1G Balance of Power

Im assuming you’re referring to Rutgers. I believe they don’t even deserve a mention. If we have to mention them, I’d call them “quarks”.
yes. Exactly. I went with "Tiny" but could have gone with "microscopic" if I had thought about it a little more.

The last few years have shown MSU turning back into a pumpkin, I'm wondering what they need to do as a program to actually compete again.
They need Michigan to suck again so they can recruit Michigan and Ohio as the number one program from Michigan again

NE has a decreasing young person population like many states but started at a lower population.
Frost is still using his FL connections to recruit but if FSU and FL get back to national province on a regular basis that well will dry up. The same for his West Coast connections from his OR days. Some day USC, UCLA and Stanford will compete with him for recruits.
He still hasn't proven to me that he is a conference champion head coach and that is what NE is paying him the big $$$ for.

Michigan State is sort an interesting situation to watch unfold.

Dantonio is crusty and not very charismatic, but he had a lot of great D line talent and high level WR and RB recruits for a many years , and much of that pipeline seems to gotten clogged up.

Michigan getting better has hurt, I think losing Narduzzi to Pitt is a big factor as noted previously. Their defense used to Iowa like, with a little more flash at times, but that has fallen off.

The bad PR from the molester gymnastics guy Nasser? probably has had an impact as well, as the general feeling was that MSU was pushing the limits with recruiting and tolerating a lot of bad behavior to hold onto risky, talented football player over the years. With the spotlight on MSU, Dantonio probably cannot get away with much anymore.

With one or two more underwhelming years, he is finished for sure.

The B1G West has become competitive fraught with minefields. An injury here or there may change the fortunes of a team. It is going to be a battle, and that is most exciting for the Gophers.
