Good Afternoon GopherHole,

I purchased a copy of Phil Steele's College Football Preview (2016). Here is the 10-Year snapshot of records in the Big Ten:

Ohio State 112-20 (71-11)
Wisconsin 98-35 (58-25)
Michigan State 91-41 (56-28)
Nebraska 86-47 (50-34)
Penn State 85-43 (48-32)
Iowa 78-51 (44-37)
Michigan 76-51 (43-37)
Rutgers 76-52 (33-40)
Northwestern 70-56 (36-44)
Maryland 57-69 (29-51)
Minnesota 54-73 (26-54)
Illinois 50-74 (24-56)
Purdue 48-77 (25-55)
Indiana 44-78 (17-63)

Gophers' Record against each team between 2006-2015:

Ohio State: 0-7
Wisconsin: 0-10
Michigan State: 2-4
Nebraska: 2-3
Penn State: 1-3
Iowa: 4-6
Michigan: 1-6
Rutgers: Haven't Played
Northwestern: 3-6
Maryland: Haven't Played
Illinois: 5-3
Purdue: 5-4
Indiana: 3-1

I am excited for the 2016 B1G Campaign. Minnesota should improve from 6-7 a year ago. Any thoughts GopherHolers?

Hope all is well,

Who did the likes of Rutgers and Maryland play before coming to the Big 10? Hard to compare to Big 10 or no?

We're kicking azz on schools from the all important state of Indiana. So there!

Phil.Steele.....the only rag you should buy . He has been pretty much dead nuts on the Gophers.

Maryland was playing in the ACC and Rutgers in the BIG East. The ACC competition was better than the BIG East.

Interesting numbers on Michigan and makes me question the national pundits calling them a top 5 team this year. I wasn't sold on them as a great team last year, but don't have much to back that up as they beat some decent teams.

They were a remarkably average team the last 10 years and I think it will take more than just one year for Harbaugh to get them back to the top of the mountain. I personally can't stand the guy and would love to see them flop big time this season.

FWIW Brady Hoke had a better year one than coach Kaki's. Harbough will probably unravel, my guess is things will get a little to weird at one of his recruits sleepovers

Harbough will probably unravel

You might just be joking, and apologies if so, but I see people keep saying things like this and I don't see any basis for it. He's won ~70% of his games at the college and NFL level and that's including the initial years it took him to take Stanford from a dumpster fire to a national title contender.

Agree..... Certainly unlikable, but the guy can flat out coach and recruit.

Agree with Dpo and Ruppert.

Harbaugh is a strange cat, but I like the odds of him getting Michigan back or close to where they were from 1971-1992, regularly competing for Rose Bowls. However, he has a lot more competition than Schembechler had. Been a long, long time since the Big 10 was the Big 2 and the Little 8.

Um, are you feeling OK?
