per Axios Sports:

8. Dave Winfield (1951-present): First-ballot MLB Hall of Famer and college hoops star drafted to both the NBA and ABA; also an NFL draftee on athleticism alone (didn't play in college).

Honorable mentions: Bud Grant (football, basketball); Gene Conley (baseball, basketball); Wilt Chamberlain (basketball, volleyball); Hobey Baker (hockey, football); Kenny Lofton (baseball, basketball).

Go Gophers!!

Bud played baseball for the Gophers too. He was good enough to be a summertime baseball mercenary getting paid to pitch for town teams around Minnesota. 3 sport star.

Signed with the Lakers after playing basketball for the Gophers. NBA titles with George Mikan.
In 1952 second leading receiver in the NFL for the Eagles after playing defensive end for them in 1951 and leading the team in sacks.

Went to the CFL in a contract dispute and the rest is history.

Mauer also would have an argument. Too bad about the “bilateral leg weakness” derailing an already HOF worthy career.
