Augustana vs Mankato St in D2 baseball-winner going to World Series

Best 2 out of 3 series starts Friday with Augustana hosting. Friday at 6 is the first game.
Pretty big thing for D2 baseball.

Slightly off topic, but potentially related: with the Summit League losing Western Illinois (moving to the Ohio Valley Conf, joining Eastern Illinois there) they are back down to the (I believe) bare minimum requirement of six baseball teams.

An all-sports conference has to sponsor at least two men's team sports with at least six teams, and other than the obvious basketball I believe baseball is the Summit's lone other.

They have Northern Colorado as an affiliate member.


Point being, either Augustana or Mankato St would be nice move-up options, similar to a Nebraska Omaha, if either can has the ability and desire.

Augi looked at it previously I know, but the Summit picked St Thomas over them.
