Marcus Sherels

Just had a pick 6 for the Vikes after fumbling a punt return.

Great play... good to see him redeem himself right away.

Sherels played very well after that initial goof on the punt return...should bode well for him

Marcus had a very good game last night, including on defense & special teams. His speed really showed on the interception return; blew by T-Jack easily even though T-Jack should have had an angle on him. He should have a great shot of making the final cut.

My sister teaches are John Marshall in Rochester. She said that she saw Marcus in the hall last spring and asked him to speak to a class her's about hard work, etc. He agreed and gave a great talk about the work and sacrifices necessary to compete and succeed at a high level. Best of luck to Marcus Sherels!

I'm a big fan of this kid. Was cheering him all the past 2 years. Bummed about his fumble (thought he was down), but was jacked after his INT. Noticed that he was all over the field making tackles after the pick-6 as well.

Grats Marcus!!!

Don't you all mean Marcel Sherels?

From Sid:
Marcel Sherels, the former Gopher who made up for losing a first-quarter fumble by intercepting a pass three plays later and returning it 64 yards for a touchdown, was signed by the Vikings after a tryout camp. He spent all of the 2010 season, except the last game of the year, on the practice squad, but according to Vikings coach Leslie Frazier, he has been one of the big surprises of the preseason so far and could play a lot at cornerback
