Few helmets pop like the gold ones the Gophers put on for special occasions. There are times when I wonder why they just don’t go with them as the primary helmet. There aren’t many better ways to pay tribute to a school’s athletic history than what Minnesota did by embedding “Ski-U-Mah” into the stripe down the center of the helmet.

I came in this thread thinking it was going to be about the white helmet, oh well. Guess I didn't realize that gold was the alternate and maroon was the primary, thought they were both on the same level.
