Asuma when Ben will finally start Isaac

You want Asuma to become a valuable commodity by this off-season?
Not sure open transfer will be an option next year. Revenue sharing has a clause in it regarding contracts and transfer rules. Hard to tell what if anything will come of it but high school recruiting might become critical again and easy transfers more difficult.

So, the process may move back to Ben’s strength of hs recruitment/aau connections. Let’s go!

There is no reason Asuma should not be starting. He looks like the most poised player in the court for the Gophers, plays unselfishly, and doesn’t turn the ball over.

Ignorant take, par for the course with you.

In conference games, Asuma has a player efficiency rating of 10.2. That leads only Rigsby, Edmonds, and Betts in conference. Patterson's is 18.4, Femi's is 14.1, and Mitchell's is 12. As far as turnovers in conference games, Asuma averages 2.7 per 40 minutes. That also trails only Rigsby and Edmonds. Odukale averages 2.1 per 40 minutes in conference, Mitchell averages 1.4, and Patterson averages 1.5. Asuma is only 9th on the team in rebounding per 40 minutes in conference games. He's shot well in conference from the floor (ranks 1st in effective field goal percentage among the top 7) but is only .500 from the line.

Asuma is averaging 25.3 minutes per game in conference. That ranks 5th on the team and is a lot for a freshman not named Dylan Harper, Ace Bailey, or Derik Queen. I'd say he's getting the playing time he deserves and he would get less on a better team.

Is the word "research" in your vocabulary?

But....but....but.....he isn't starting the game......so it is complete mismanagement :)

Never ceases to amaze me how hung up people get on stuff like this. It would be one thing if Asuma wasn't playing at all but as you pointed out he is getting starter level minutes he just isn't on the court when the ball is tipped to start the game.

Well he had 4 returning starters worth $500K+ apiece.
The little I have seen is that Revenue Sharing my also address the issue of the NIL collectives, they may be on the way out, all speculative at this point though. Trying to give control back to the NCAA while addressing player issues.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a coach proof lineup to mask Ben’s ineffectiveness.

And

As fans from last year we were expecting:

Hawkins
Mitchell
Christie
Garcia
Payne

With Fox and Asuma coming in off the bench.

God, I hate the portal for basketball.
I think Ben not starting Payne is part of the reason he is gone. He never seem happy last year and that could have played a factor. Christie being 1 & done has nothing to do with portal but Hawkins leaving is a direct result of the portal. Also Hawkins being here is because of the portal. We can’t have it both ways. We just were awful in the portal this year. Asuma should be starting idc if he finishes in crunch if we are losing most games by double digits by the time we got to the clutch. We need better starts and set the tone early
