per Nathan:
• ON THE COUCH: Not going anywhere — at least not for a while. And when he does, it will probably be on his own terms, either retiring after a successful run or moving on to something better. This is also where we put the new coaches who are still arranging their furniture.
My list: Illinois’ Brett Bielema, Indiana’s Tom Allen, Maryland’s Mike Locksley, Michigan State’s Mel Tucker, Northwestern’s Pat Fitzgerald, Ohio State’s Ryan Day, Rutgers’ Greg Schiano, Wisconsin’s Paul Chryst.
• GRABBING HIS KEYS: He knows he’ll be on the road soon. Either he is nearing the natural end of his run, or someone will soon tap him on the shoulder, either to ask him to come over or order him to leave.
My list: Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz, Minnesota’s P.J. Fleck, Nebraska’s Scott Frost, Penn State’s James Franklin.
• BACKING DOWN THE DRIVEWAY: Change is imminent. Either he’s a hot commodity or on the opposite trend.
My list: Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh, Purdue’s Jeff Brohm.
