As of today, 4,700 tickets remain for TCU game

Count me as someone who has always thought this would be a sell-out as we got closer to the game. The problem is that a lot of people aren't thinking about football in July and early August. With the Vikings not having their first home game until Sept. 20, people are going to be ready for football.

With the added seating I think this still could be the largest crowd ever at TCF. I've got to believe the student section will be full due to the free tickets given to freshman.

The Vikings sell 50,000 tickets for preseason games in August mostly because the season ticket base doesn't get a choice. In my opinion, nothing worse than pre season NFL football.

Like the choice we got about whether to include Kent State as part of our season ticket package? Win or lose against TCU there were more fans hiding from lightning in the concourse at a preseason Vikings game than we will have in attendance for the Kent State game.

I watched the Vikings game against Oakland. The game against Kent State will have more people in the seats.

I'm saying it's not a message that will resonate with the young (under 50 is young when talking gophers) because they grew up Vikings fans first then learned about the gophers. That's why they sell 50,000 tickets to an exhibition game in August. Your statement is basically pulling the vikings down to push the gophers up and it's not IMO a smart marketing plan because the easiest fans for us to gain would be Vikings fans who are not yet gopher fans and trying to tell them they are wrong to be vikings fans first gophers fans second won't work.

+1. I know what you are trying to say LakerFan.

The first is absolutely true. The second, IMO betting on that football is the worst.

That's a real great take there. Kent State is part of the season. You bought season tickets. If you want a choice, buy a two pack or single game tickets.

+1. I think most people realize that the Gophers football team has been around longer, but I don't see how that works as a marketing angle. If you want to work the 'state pride' angle, there are better ways to do it (promote the MN born players, etc.)

Secondary market prices started coming down last night. I'll probably pounce by the weekend.

Is there an easy way to see how many are available on sites like Stub Hub?

Stub Hub shows how many are remaining on their app.
1,927 available at this time.

We finally got an email today for our complimentary season tickets from the bowl game. In the email, it notes that due to season ticket sales and the free freshman tickets, there will be no TCU single game tickets or guest passes for sale. Seems like a good sign to me.

Also got a parking pass in the new student lot. So no worries on parking for the rest of the season!

Great Deal. I am a fan of anything that puts students in the seats and makes GameDay better/easier for them. Enjoy.
