Are you excited that Rutgers & Maryland are now officially in the Big Ten?

Difficult to answer with only those two options.

In terms of where my main interests lie (men's basketball), looking forward to having Maryland in the Big Ten. They'll fit right in. Rutgers has its work cut out for 'em.

How about an answer like, "Meh, it will be interesting to play some new teams, but that's about it."

I'm not an old timer stuck in the past. I like that Delaney is a forward thinker and I believe having a couple of east coast B1G teams is really going to help our East Coast pipeline develop.

ETA: Just noticed this in the other thread, looks like Pitino sees it the same way as me.

“Commissioner [Jim] Delany, he’s always been ahead of the curve, and I think he understands this is what college athletics has become,” Pitino said. “He sees the potential market out east that can be tapped into.”

One immediate impact for the Gophers, Pitino noted, is that the games, televised on the Big Ten Network, will provide a new audience.

“We’re recruiting a lot of kids from the metropolitan New York area, New Jersey,” said Pitino, himself of an East Coast background. “So I think it really benefits us talking to those guys about ‘Hey, we’re going to get you back to maybe play in Madison Square Garden, you’re going to play a Rutgers, you’re going to play at Maryland.’ ”

No. Should have been Mizzou and ND or nothing.

For me, both options are correct.

I guess I'm in the minority in being in favor of it. I don't have any affinity for Rutgers, but our conference is already brutal, adding 1 doormat isn't going to hurt, especially when you're also adding Maryland. Maryland is a very solid program who could definitely make a splash and will mean that I see some more interesting players that I wouldn't usually get to watch or see in person. Expanding the B1G into their TV markets also means more money for all B1G schools, which I am certainly in favor of, especially with our struggles to build a better practice facility

Surprised BTN doesn't have any Maryland and Rutgers programming today and tomorrow.

Their old conferences won't release the broadcast rights of their old footage.

You go Big East. Hold onto those Rutgers highlights. Worth their weight in gold.

Change the numbers to 11 and 3 and this works well......
