Anyone notice that Isaac drove to the hoop with his left hand and then shot left-handed?

He did it with ease and facility. I don't recall having seen that before, although I may be forgetting. Perhaps he worked on that in the off-season?

Most top end players master this by 7th grade or so, glad Asuma did as well.

@leftyslefty will enjoy your thread though.

Go Gophers!!

Ha! Crocker-Johnson and Reynolds draw most of my attention, but I don’t think this is new stuff for Ike. He was a great slasher, rebounder, and defender at Cherry where they had little size. His game is built from the inside out. Though he has a good looking jumper, it doesn’t go in enough. If he can boost that percentage a wee bit we’ll have an all conference player!

I'm so old, that when growing up, we marveled at a basketball player in junior & senior high that could dribble, drive and shoot with their opposite hand.

I mean that's only kinda true. Even in the NBA there are plenty of high end players who have way worse splits finishing with their off hand. I don't disagree that on a wide open layup, a D1 player should be able to finish that play but off hand shots when they are contested are very difficult for even the greats to master.

Presently, he shoots a palm shot, which means his touch is off. Growing up on the Range, I cut off the fingers on winter gloves so I would learn to shoot with my finger tips. It worked well. I could light it up from outside, but those were the days without a 3 point shot so taking shots from beyond the key was less efficient.
Isaac can work on this and he'll have a softer and more consistent shot. He's only a sophomore so I see good things for him under Niko's guidance.

He has definitely taken a leap from last year for sure. Once he gets his outside shot falling more, he's going to be more dangerous.

Asuma has all conference potential. He absolutely needs to play more consistently and confidently and last game he did.
Crazy three point numbers...we have 4 guys who get about the same number of threes to go in the basket...
Tyson 45 for 117 and 38.5%
Crocker 42 for 130 and 32.3%
Isaac 45 for 141 and 31.9%
Durkin 47 for 129 and 36.4%
I would not have guessed these four guys have made similar numbers of threes....encouraging.

Tyson needs to shoot more. He's seemed hesitant at times. the past handful of games. He's had quite a few looks i thought he'd pull the trigger but didn't.
