Sounds like it may be a nasty storm
I think the deal breakers are Lighting within 3 to 4 miles of the stadium and possibly hail? IIRC both are predicted to be possible tonight.I don't claim to be up on every NCAA rule, but as far as I know, they will not stop a game just for rain. I believe the rule on lightning is - if there is lightning within 8 miles of the field/stadium, then the action must stop for 30 minutes. but if there is additional lightning during that time, the 30 minutes is extended for each occurrence.
however, I also think that it's ultimately up to the referees and the site manager, so if there was torrential rain (like Noah's Ark kind of stuff), I think the refs have the discretion to halt play if they feel the playing conditions are not safe.
anyone with more knowledge chime in.
