Any buzz about Tubby looking around?

...attending an elite school and being an elitist. Most (not all) students or graduates of the aforementioned schools would consider their school "elite." Nothing wrong with that. Some (not all) of those who attend/attended those same schools would fall into the "elitist" category. For better or worse, the world is full of elitists. Some elitists (whatever their alma mater) carry themselves with more dignity than others; others with quite a bit less decorum - on that point I think we both can agree.

I'm perplexed, though, by your comment: "The point is, UVa has a very high percentage of "elitists" for being the kind of school that it is. They're not Harvard or Berkeley."

I don't know how to send a private message - I'm not an elitist ;)

BTW, WISCONSIN people like abusing dead deer and dead humans. Maybe some VA people too, but never heard of them. Certainly you've heard of Ed Gein, Dahmer, etc. etc. right? WISCONSIN.

Your points that you wrote in your reply DO suggest that UVa considers themselves elite...so why are you offended by my first comments? You admitted that I was right. Look, all I'm saying is that UVa people have a high attitude toward themselves. And I'm not the only one who's said that here.

UVA

Virginians have as many stereotypes towards Minnesotans as Minnesotans have towards Virginians.

UVA elites are not nearly as bad as DC elitists anyways.

That's true. Assuming it's always 20 below. Assuming it snows 10 months a year. Not really being able to keep Minnesota straight from Wisconsin. Getting mistaken for a Packer fan is more then a little insulting.

unless you weight 350lbs and are a far slob who smells of rotten cheese how does that happen?!

It isn't impossible but it would take quite the complete package to get Tubby away from Minnesota right now. Still hear some Arizona talk but most likely that will go to a west coast guy like Few. The practice facility is an issue but Maturi has tried his best to deal with it and it will get done eventually.

Tubby has the program in great shape, making the NCAA's in his second year is very impressive when you consider that last year our team was dominated by three seniors and most thought this would be a rebuilding year. Well, he went out and put together a huge recruiting class and really coached upsome of the returning players and we are way ahead of schedule.

The potential next year is huge for this team and Tubby has the program right where he wants it, we lose nobody and add a huge recruiting class with two guys who will be big factors the moment they step on campus, Trevor and Royce.

Tubby isn't going to leave for anywhere where he has to rebuild again. He has MN in perfect position to contend every year and has really balanced the classes.

SR. Westbrook, Bostick, Johnson plus w/o Busch
JR. Nolen, Hoffarber, Carter, Mbwake
SO. Sampson, Iverson, Joseph
FR. White, Williams, Cobbs plus B. Allen

Telling that when things are going well, Tubby "coached up" the players. When things are going bad, the players were leftovers from the previous regime that are horrible and cant play a lick.

Hey, one thing we should look at here. Tubby likes his teams to play defense and doesn't seem to coach his teams to a way that would be as favorable or successful in the ACC. His style of coaching just does not fit the ACC like it does the Big Ten. Shoot, people were giving him a hard time at Kentucky about the way his teams played defensive minded. In the south it is more run and gun outscore the opponent. Up here is the frozen tundra, it is punch you in the mouth defense and rebounding that win games. Tubby's teams usually perform well in both categories.

ACC is all-around basketball

Sure, UNC and Wake have great athletes and high powered offense, but if you can't play D (and you're not UNC) you're in deep trouble in the ACC. Duke, Clemson, Maryland, and VT are all successful teams that will get after you defensively, on the boards, or both. Style of play won't play into a decision. Also, FWIW, the most successful Virginia teams in recent history, coached by Jeff Jones and Terry Holland, were great defensive teams.
