Another transfer waiver granted...everybody but Buckles

This sounds a lot like the Josh Smith UCLA to Georgetown case. Sounds like for "personal reasons" the guy just didn't like playing at Penn State and wanted to transfer closer to home. No medical reason given.

I know. I'm tired of Illini fans griping about that one because it only muddles how unprincipled the Buckles decision was. With Starks 1) the rule was very clear-cut, you must be within 150 miles of the 'sick relative' to get the waiver, and he was not within 150 miles (rather than transferring to one of the dozen d1 schools within that radius, he wanted to go to Illinois) ... there was no subjectivity about it. And 2) he transferred anyway and can play next year.
