Another shoe to drop on brew's head?!

The reality is, those guys glorifying underage boozing and intoxication, sex, drugs, violence and the [N] word, are all representatives of the University of MN, and are held to a higher standard in that little thingy they signed known as a "free ride."
Assuming that everything you talk about is true then this will be a fair point. But even assuming that's the case, this is not "another shoe dropping". That sort of talk (combined with words like expose) is blowing things out of proportion and I think that's what most folks are reacting to.

In the meantime my initial point stands. This sort of thread starting is done by posters who want to be all big and bad by riling up the board (and who want to be able to proclaim how right they were later). Its pointless rumor mongering. For goodness sakes at least make a claim about what the "shoe" is for god's sakes. Even if you can't substantiate it with a link that is still better than this completely vague nonsense.

Its SOP now for employers to check facebook for anyone they're considering hiring. You can wow them at the interview, but if there's a picture of you on your facebook page with underwear (yours or someone else's) on your head you can expect a rejection letter.

The truth; and posts that are not filled with jelly cream fluff and apologies, are looked at as antagonistic in this venue and I am the "crybaby?" Try again. The reality is, those guys glorifying underage boozing and intoxication, sex, drugs, violence and the [N] word, are all representatives of the University of MN, and are held to a higher standard in that little thingy they signed known as a "free ride." If they were representatives of XYZ Corp and behaving in the same manner counter to their agreement with that entity, their A#### would be in the unemployment line. And don't give me that "college kids" B/S either. There are "kids" younger than them serving in Afghanistan and Iraq who are not spending their nights and days making fools of themselves and their organizations on FB!

Hey! You missed rock and roll!

All of which points to the players being dumb about their image (and by association, the U's...again, assuming this is all true). It is not however a big scandal that will plague the U for years or that will get the NCAA to even peek in our direction.

Conference Champ = Reality Check = Pantherhawk.

Just stop feeding the mental patient

Honest question....When do you think, is the last time Pantherhawk/ brewsterhaha / Reality check / Eric Lewis has been on a consensual date with a living, breathing female?...My guess is when he was in the Airforce, with some weird looking tons-o-fun while on leave in some crap hole IA township.

controversial = true?

inflammatory = you don't want to hear it even if true?

extraneous = too confusing for you?

off topic = non-brewster reverent?

name calling is all you have?

Hey Reality Check - just curious. What is your all-time favorite Golden Gopher moment? Who is your all-time favorite Golden Gopher?

reality check, will you say you hope iowa will never make another bowl game, and iowa is the mississippi of the midwest?

Wow...

This sure devolved quickly...and there wasn't much to begin with...

I'm in a position to hire and I'd rather hire someone with pictures of them drinking during their college days (regardless of age) than someone with facebook pics of them with their light saber.

I agree, but City Boyz, Inc. is an equal representative of your Hawkeyes.

That is patently false and you know it. First off, you're f$cking stupid if you think you can talk sh!t to people without expecting them to refute what you say. Then you hide behind bullsh!t like "oh you're all apologist." F@ck you.

Spare me your moralizing. I seem to remember in 2008 dozens of photos of your beloved hawkeye football players partaking in all the same behaviors that were caught on film you stupid hypocrite. And don't pretend you're not our special little hawkeye fan. Also, I travel a lot internationally and I've seen my share of wasted GIs in bars in Australia and Germany, so don't tell me they're all angels, because they not. The Japanese PM just resigned because he couldn't get a US military closed of Okanawa that is notorious for misbehaving GIs. I say this not to deride GIs, but to make the point that young people engage in behavior not acceptable to adults regardless of class or position. In fact I saw one of you vaulted Hawkeyes heroes barely able to stand as grown man, so spare me.

I don't know what is psychologically wrong with you pantherhawk, brewsterhaha, conference champ, reality check and whatever else you call yourself, but I would venture to guess it has a lot to with how insignificant and emasculated you feel in your real life. That's why you spend hours on the internet everyday attacking our football program and its fans. I suggest you sit on your soprano sax and spine you failure. I know you want to.

Thank you, Reality Check/Conference Champ/Pantherhawk/Loon/Wren/whatever, for bringing many of us on GH back together through our mutual hatred of you. Although your existence in reality only contributes to oxygen theft, your existence here fuels our desire to destroy everything Iowa. By the way, how does it feel to be completely ostracized by your own fan base? You're a maniacal sociopath.

I sure hope it's not as devastating a blow like the one you warned us about before....ya know...that secondary violation that threatens to shut down the program.

Not only was that not a shoe, it wasn't even a shoelace. More like an aglet.

They do. A friend of mine was reprimanded for a post she made that was construed to be about work.

first if she was reprimanded it was probably about work. the way lawsuits roll these days a company isn't going to risk being sued unless there is some validity to it. second, when these guys are on facebook etc they aren't representing the u of m. they are representing themselves. as for things like the "N" word, there is an urban/hip hop culture that many of you pretend you understand but you have no idea, unless these players are white and using it as if they are in the kkk let it be! music has horrible language and these players listen to it, just like I did, and my high school students. the worst thing is any reporter adding football players or any athlete just so they can set them up for a story is disgusting. I hope these reporters interview these athletes on a personal level before they start a non-story. pretty sad with all the b.s. going on in the world, that the best thing they can find is 18-25 yr olds partying and using vulgar language...really sad for our media!

Absolutely right on. I'd love for one of the players to counter this story(nonstory) with a bit of research into the online profiles and pictures of local media members. If they are less than 35 there's probably some e-dirt out there on them. It really wouldn't be too hard for a college age kid to dig it up. Newscasters and reporters are notorious party animals and deviants.

A troll is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community. You're just a dink.

...soo, seeing as how this forum isn't about 'trolls', doesn't that also make you one? By extension doesn't that also make you a dink? Wait, doesn't that make ME a troll for responding? It's all so confusing! ...And hilarious that people actually get bothered by this stuff!

Students need to learn not to add everyone who sends them a friend request. Too many people want the wrong things from these kids

Fox news attacking a public university is nothing new...

Hey Reality Check - just curious. What is your all-time favorite Golden Gopher moment? Who is your all-time favorite Golden Gopher?

His favorite Gopher moment was when Iowa tore down the goalposts at the Metrodome. Trust me.

Hey! I regularly attend Broadway quality shows in Des Moines!

No doubt about it. That's why I asked. He's posing as a Gopher fan, yet sure is ignoring that simple question about his favorite Gopher things. He's a fraud.

Has anyone really answered the question as to whether this is just Facebook crap or something else? If it is FB, who gives a rats *ss?

It must be nice going through life as an investigative journalist where all you have to produce is stuff by digging through others peoples crap and then judging them. Talk about no value added.

Um, they will always find a warm welcome at the SEC.

if you consider a football scholarship, or any other athletic scholarship a "free ride" you are an idiot! just like any academic scholarship is not a "free ride" maybe you should respect these student athletes and scholars a bit more than what you do because on a daily basis these young people are working their ass off! i know MANY people who have very good jobs, engineers, lawyers, police officers who all get loose in their spare time. i know several that have many pics of themselves at bars having drinks, bbq's, sporting events, etc by no means does that mean your representing or disrespecting who they work for. now if a person goes online and is making comments about their employer/co-workers/employees its a different ball game. just like with these kids...in college kids party, they meet new people and they do stupid things. its part of learning from mistakes and growing up. most have been there and more will follow. i would bet out of the 50,000 students at the u, more non-athletes/scholars are the problem compared to the number of athletes. athletes are not role models, parents are role models, if you dont want your kid to act like an idiot-dont parent like an idiot!
