It's that time of the year again where we count down to the season opener! This thread was the most productive thing I did on GH last year, so I figure it's time to start it up again! This year we start 117 days away from the opener at TCF Bank Stadium against UNLV. Thanks in advance to those that help with the pictures as we count down the days!

Dang it, I was just talking with Rolly Goldy about starting a countdown to the picture countdown thread. This is much better.
 


I have been waiting for this, thank God we can all get together instead of having penny ante pissing contests. Welcome good news.

And it also means there are only one hundred and ten days till I start up the Predict the Score and the Pick per Day Threads.

If it is ok with everyone, I will do that again. If ya want someone else to do it, that is ok. I will then just melt into oblivion.

I don't understand how pick per day is done. Sorry if it is a dumb request, but Don or anybody else, can you either enlighten me or direct me to a place where I can learn about it? I thought now would be a good time to ask since there is not a lot going on for another 109 days.

Not a dumb request, actually we would like more to get into these.

Pick per Day is for any games played that day, using Vegas lines to pick a winner.

Predict the Score is for Gopher Games with the next opponent.

Stay tuned for this fall and look for my threads titled:

Pick per Day (any games that day listed on scoresandodds.com )

Just out of curiosity, why start at 117 and not 99?

If I remember correctly from other year, it has started in the 100's quite often. Figured after the Spring Game, fans like myself were giddy for the season so I felt it was appropriate...

Not questioning motives, but when you start it in the triple digits, you end up doubling some photos up. On the other hand, I do think Rashede should wear number 117. At least.

I usually try to avoid doubling up on pictures I've already used in the countdown. Also, it can sometimes be difficult to find a picture of a number that hasn't been worn by very many high profile players, so sometimes last year I had to piece together double digit numbers anyway, leading to the same problem as you list above. Hopefully I avoid doubling up this year :)
 

I love this annual thread! Spring hasn't even showed up yet and now I want it to be Fall! Thanks to all of you that provide the photo's!

How big of an inferiority complex do you have to come on here and troll a countdown to the season opener? Especially after that pig sat at home during bowl season last season. Sweet life you live.
