If that's what you meant, why didn't you just say, "His style of play reminds me of Cody Zeller."? No reasonable interpretation of the run-on sentence "Illikainen is a stud, think of Cody Zeller." could arrive at any conclusion other than the writer intended to compare the quality of the two as players. That's not a problem with my interpretation. That's a problem with your writing.
If you intended to compare the quality of Illikainen and Zeller as players, stick with your convictions. Don't backpedal and claim your words were misinterpreted. If you didn't intend to compare the quality of Illikainen and Zeller, then say so, and say what you mean.
