2 more years of watching Dre Hollins turn into an absolute stud for Tubby probably wouldn't hurt in the recruitment of Tyus Jones...just saying.

Hollins has really improved over the course of the year, which has been impressive. He still needs to do a lot of work on his dribbling, however. He also needs to figure out how to be strong with the ball when there is double-team pressure. Then again, everyone on the team needs improvement in this area. They are incredibly weak when it comes to being strong with the ball in tight dribbling or pressure situations.

I've been hesitant to say this since I don't like to go overboard and I don't like to jump too quickly on things, but in terms of a future BIG point guard I am finally convinced he is the real deal.

Nice to finally have someone who can create their own shot when needed. Haven't had that since Mr. Westbrook.

Dre is the real deal. It is nice to see him move around with the ball looking for the right guy and not just pick up his dribble and stand there waiting for someone to come back for a pass. He has a calming affect on the whole offense, just give the ball back to Dre and then reset. With all of the young slasher and athletes, this a fun team to watch.

I'll admit he has come a long way from the beginning of the season, and even since he came back from his first injury. Still a little turnover prone, but as many have said on this board, turnovers tend to go away with age. I still would like his assist numbers to rise a bit, but with the offense we are running its tough to put up huge assist numbers. Would love to see him in future years beat teams like Wisconsin and Northwestern by playing uptempo and finding the open guy before Wisky can sit down in their defense or NW can get in the pesky 1-3-1 zone.

Handles are improving significantly which seems to be more from confidence than anything. He like Rodney are riding some very high confidence waves and should carry over nicely into our non conference schedule next year. By B1G Conference play these two should feel and play like all conference players.

I openly doubted his ability when he first took over the starting job, thinking it was too big for him and he wasn't a true point guard. I'm starting to come around on his ability to grasp it and I got to give props to Tubby for sticking with him, definately the right call over forcing Welch back into the starting role.

High Hopes and expectations for this kid. He is my excitement to carry me over until next years tip off.

He made some sweet passes around the hoop tonight sucking the defense in on penetration, then dishing. They passed so well tonight that on a couple occasions he found an open man who made the extra pass instead of shooting (the Coleman jumper comes to mind) that would have padded his assist numbers some. Overall this was by far his best game of his college career in terms of running things & getting everyone involved.

Andre is improving at pg but he needs to improve his turnover percentage. He is only a freshman but vision uis hard to coach. That said, he is going to be a terrific guard for the Gophers whether it is a pg or sg. I hope the Gophers continue with 3 guard offense. If Tubby goes back to starting TM, EE, and RW at SF, it would be a mistake IMO.

I agree. I like the 3 guard line up. Did when Monson used it as well.

I love what Andre's bringing to the offense right now. We've lacked a penetrating guard since Nolen went down, and it's one of the main things we've missed since then, in my opinion. Otherwise, our offense becomes the standaround slog we've gotten used to lately. If Andre is getting the confidence to get in the lane and finish, it opens up everything for not only himself, but Rodney, Austin, and Joe on the cut when their guys help.

The movement on the offense has been terrific the past two games especially. The Gophers are tough to defens, especially in man to man. Constant movement and back door cuts. Fun to watch.

Jones isn't coming here. He doesn't like Williams Arena. Boys, he is Michale Floyd part deux

Talk about reading waaaay too much into a comment. Does him preferring to play at the Target center really confirm that he's not going to play for the Gophers? Seriously?

I read that and chuckle. 15 yo kid has drawn a conclusion on one of the most storied arenas in the B1G and doesn't "like it". Must of had years of bad experiences there...

I hope we get to watch Andre for 3 more years as he is only a freshman this year. One season of Tyus and Andre playing together would be fun to watch. I'm not extremely optimistic that will happen, but we can dream - right?

I hope you're mocking ruppert cause Tyus never sai he doesn't like Williams, the guy who did was Isaiah Zierden.
