Would that be the #1 AA Melrose team Lakeview barely lost to? or Duluth East or other top teams? The Lakeview coach has gone out of his way to play teams above Lakeviews Class A status. He only has his brother as a legit high school teammate, the rest couldn't play on an average A squad. Dexpite this he manages to score and win. That ain't the worst competition in high school hoops. He excelled during Howard Pulley play. We may have messed up by not signing hima and whoever succeeds Tubby will be asking "what the heck was Tubby thinking"?

They're playing those teams, but not beating them.. ....I watched him a few weeks ago against a horrendous 1A school. He scored a lot, seems like a nice kid and is a very good player. But he cherry-picked about half of the 40-some points he scored.
 

Considering how well minn is shooting against zone defenses .....i think any kid that can shoot would be welcome here!
 

BTW....watching another minn kid on tv tonight who is better then anything on he gopher bench. Gophers have NO bench!

All garbage. I've seen him be a dominate scorer on a team with the most talented players in the state vs. some of the best competition in the country.
 

jett having a huge game tonight against vcu.....Another kid from here that can excel out of state but cant play at our bottom tier program.

If by dominant scorer you mean knocking down open jumpers created by Tyus, you are correct.

As the late-great JohnnyGopher once posted, the gopher scouts/staff evaluated him and determined he wasn't good enough to play for our program. I hope these same staff members that passed on him, but found Oto, Mav and Chip are no longer on staff.
 

Yes, him and Tyus were a good combo, but he could score 'just fine' with Tyus on the bench.

You must be a collegiate coach or something. Or see something that a high major coach can't see. It's not like he's a secret. He played AAU ball with Tyus Jones for crying out loud.

Broman isn't even playing for SDSU. He's been stuck on the end of the bench all year. In my opinion, he'll probably end up transferring.

A lot of truth to that.

Kid can shoot and play, but he is short and lacks elite speed, vert, etc. Not surprised.

I looked up Parski and discovered that it's the name of a town in Poland. Whether they have a high suicide rate there, I cannot say.

Thanks for the explanation. Seems like there are numerous more recent (and notable) examples of things Tubby would have done well or not so well that digging for them wouldn't be necessary.
