And we have a new player on our team.... Chance Stephens

Geez, you’re going to die on this hill aren’t you? Today’s hoops, not so sure you need multiple 6’10” / 7 ‘ players to survive, even in the Big Ten.

With guys that transfer in from smaller Conferences (or true Freshman), we know very little about how their game will translate at the Power 5 level. This creates doubt about the overall balance of our roster construction IMO.

Maybe the post players we added to the roster ultimately prove they can hold their own against the B1G level of physicality, defense and rebounding around the basket. At this point, we really don't know.

I'd certainly feel better adding another guy with legitimate post skills but not at the expense of NIL/roster space if there is a more talented guy available that primarily plays on the perimeter.

I think this is Niko using his history of working with and winning with Stevens, Roddy, Evans, and Nicque to sell a kid like this on getting a shot at doing the same thing. This is what Ben did not have working in his favor, he just didn't have those success stories to lean on. I like Stephens' potential! Practices are going to be competitive with lots of guys that think they have an opportunity to shine.

We'll find out.
I sure would like a couple more guys taller than 6'3" however.
Do you want 15 players 6’8” or taller? I don’t get why everyone thinks you can keep that many players happy when there are only 8 or 9 man rotations. Even with injuries or red shirts there are only so many minutes.

Chance Stephens, huh? The way he's been hopping from school to school....he's more like....Community Chest Stephens!

Length is important, especially in conferences like the Big10. Rebounding, attacking the rim, getting the 50/50 balls, happen more often when you have length on the floor. A platoon of 6'6" to 6'10" guys are important. Whatever spots we have left, I think, will be filled with junkyard dogs in that height range.
