We have a roughly an hour to go until the field is announced and still don't have a good feeling whether the Gophers are in or out.
The events of the last couple of days -- Temple winning the A10, USC winning the Pac 10 and Mississippi State winning the SEC -- have me less convinced that the Gophers are in.
I've looked at RPIs and SOSs and everything. At the end, what worries me about the Gophers chances is pretty simple. This team hasn't won back-to-back games since late January.
I do understand that the team only had consecutive home games once in that stretch, but that kind of eyeball test is a concern to me.
I also understand why people think the Gophers should be in ahead of Wisconsin, but I get caught up on this item:
Gophers were 5-9 for the season vs. Michigan State, Purdue, Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin. That's a .357 winning percentage in those games.
Wisconsin was 6-7 against the other seven Big Ten teams under consideration. .462 winning percentage.
Penn State 6-8 against the other seven Big Ten teams under consideration. .429 winning percentage.
Michigan was also 5-9 against the other seven Big Ten teams under consideration. .357 percentage.
That concerns me. It really does.
