The best part of this is that he put the bunt where only the pitcher could make the play, and where he'd be at full stride at the point of intersection.
 

That would never happen today.

Because today's players can't bunt to save their lives.

BTW - Lenny Randle also had another great moment in baseball history. he's the guy who tried to blow a ball foul. there was a slow roller down the 3rd-base line, and he got down next to the ball and literally blew on it, hoping to get the ball to roll across the foul line. google it.

Dude wasn't a terrible ballplayer. Hit over .300 twice and stole over 30 bases twice. had some good years with Texas and the Mets.
