Former University of Minnesota women's basketball standout Amaya Battle has signed a contract with Logiman Broni of Italy's Serie A1.

Battle, a Hopkins, Minn. native, concludes a decorated four-year career in the Maroon and Gold as one of the most impactful playmakers in Golden Gopher history.

Battle leaves a mark on the Minnesota record books. She is the only player in Gopher history to finish a career with more than 1,500 points, 775 rebounds, and 590 assists. Her final career tallies stand at 1,533 points (10th all-time), 776 rebounds (10th all-time), and 599 assists (2nd all-time).

During her senior season in 2025-26, Battle earned All-Big Ten Third Team and All-Big Ten Defensive Team honors. She led the Gophers' memorable postseason run, highlighting her senior year by hitting the game-winning shot to defeat Mississippi and propel Minnesota to its first NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance since 2005. Off the court, her excellence earned her Second Team CSC Academic All-American honors.

Go Gophers!!

Happy for her and hope she enjoys this international opportunity ! I would have loved 2 c her make the Lynx roster.

Always want the goal of playing professionally. I've never tried to investigate what I'm about to ask, but what is the difference in potential salary if all things being equal and a person has the choice of playing in the WNBA vs. playing overseas?

Some digging I did suggested first-year American players would earn about €3,000/month playing in Italy and living expenses are typically included
