Wow. I'm really interested in seeing how this plays out as I like to fly both of these airlines and have rewards cards for both of them. I use Sun Country to fly to MSP (because f*ck Delta) and I use Allegiant to fly into a number of smaller airports and regions in both the Dakotas and in the western part of the US.
I don't know what has gotten into Allegiant in recent years. A decade ago or more, I would have said I hated them; terrible service, shitty old planes, et al. I just avoided them for a while. About the time they sponsored the Raiders stadium (no idea where they are getting the money for these kinds of things) I also had a need to fly more often into the Dakotas and whatever is going on, I think they have done a complete 180. Been very very happy traveling with them, and their pricing is outstanding.
