All Things Richard Pitino Tweets

I always liked Richard, he was a good face for our program and I wish we could've experienced what he's doing at New Mexico. We just got him too early. Wishing him continued success.
He's continued to grow and develop, and he'll be in line to give the high-major scene a whirl again if he so chooses. Otherwise, a dude can do worse than live in Albuquerque and coach in the Pit.

He's adapted well to the new world. I suspect he's benefitted from his dad's experiences, which have helped Rick navigate the scene upon his return to the college game. I'm not sure if I saw it here or elsewhere, but there was an interview where Rick said coaching in Greece was the best thing that could have happened to him. Almost all his players were on one-year contracts. He had a new team every year. That prepared him for the similar circumstance in CBB right now. Rick and Richard talk all the time, and they doubtless help each other with advice and guidance.

I'll never forget how classy Richard was when he was dismissed here. Classy and philosophical. Getting fired is part of most coaching careers, even good coaching careers, and that's how he thought of it and put it.

Agreed but I still think he might struggle at B1G level. There are enough duds in the Mountain West that he doesn’t have to bring the A game every night. That’s a big difference from the big boys.
