All Things Players Coming and Going (26-27 Off-Season)

agree with this. I don't like Mooney playing down the middle personally (just a really big ask in a fast and physical B10 and I don't see that being his position at the next level because it only gets bigger and faster). Know Moe played center for Madison and I'd say his offensive upside is top 6 caliber, but he'd be a pretty big unknown to throw into that role.
Would rather not have Moe at center. Could find a guy who just wins draws and penalty kills there at 4C. But it’s not make or break

Also yeah, Mooney shouldn’t be playing center.

Former Mr. Hockey Hagen Burrows headed to Notre Dame. Like that pickup for them
Was curious on production of the Mr. Hockeys of the past in college. So I looked back at the winners since 2010’s best seasons:

Jayson Shaugabay: 43 pts 40 gms (Sophomore season) *active

Max Strand: 22 pts 33 gms (Freshman season) *active

Jack Peart, D: 24 pts 39 gms (sophomore season)

Blake Biondi, F: 27 pts 38 gms (5th year)

Bryce Brodzinski, F: 36 pts 39 gms (5th year)

Sammy Walker, F: 29 pts 31 gms (Junior year)

Casey Mittelstadt, F: 30 pts 34 gms (freshman season)

Riley Tufte, F: 29 pts 42 gms (sophomore season)

Jake Jaremko, F: 39 pts, 40 gms (freshman season)

Avery Peterson, F: 15 pts 25 gms (junior season)

Grant Besse, F: 33 pts 35 gms (junior season)

Justin Kloos, F: 43 pts 37 gms (Junior season)

Kyle Rau, F: 41 pts 39 gms (Junior season)

Nick Bjugstad, F: 42 pts 40 gms (sophomore season)

Pretty crazy that Shaugabay is the first to break the 1 ppg barrier since Kloos although many were close. Also almost all of them had their best season before their last season in college.

Mr. Hockeys 2025 and 2026 should both be on the Gopher radar in becoming Moorhead South. One for a transfer from Mankato and one for a commitment flip.

Would love to flip Bergeson and get a commitment from Mickelson. Could go without Kraft honestly but I think he’ll figure out college hockey as an upperclassman.

Hate that this is the system, but realistically that is exactly how a school like Minnesota should try use the portal

100%. If you’re unsure about a high school kid who still put up great numbers let him develop and get polished at the other schools in the area and then poach him. It’s dumb that you’re able to do that but it is what it is.

Will be VERY interesting:
LDP
vs.
Strahl
vs.
Cournoyer (uw)
vs.
Miller (WMU)
vs.
Lehti (MNSU)

i'm more curious to see what Hauser does now.

The rest is really hard as so much is contingent on the team in front of them. I'd guess that Lehti will have the best looking numbers

UND brings in Malinoski for depth and what do you notice? As always, a C that is good at the dot. They do that EVERY year.

Source just confirmed Tarin Smith is not coming. In a strange twist, he verbally committed but Minnesota decom'd.

Leaving room for his teammate on the blue line lol. I’ll take your source with a grain of salt
would love to see Dupes in maroon n gold but it's not likely happening.
If you watch the Everett - Penticton series take a look at how well Dupont blocks shots. At 16, the kid is a complete player. Another good CHL option at D, is Luke Vlooswyk (Everett) - Philadelphia 7th rounder. His stock continues to rise every game he plays.

The above makes no sense, particularly with their season still going on and there being nothing anywhere about it

Very well may not be coming here, but would imagine that would be the case if smith didn’t want it unless Larson is doing weird shit like we’re not going to take you unless you’re all in

sorry, just sharing some insight. It may not make sense and it doesn't really have to. Not much does lately in college hockey. Just don't slot him into your mock line-up for next season.

Looking like another long year with Murr playing 30 a game to salvage games

Zero shot at you. More just really bizarre situation

UND rounds out their forward group, which leads me to believe they are hoping to make two big NIL splashes to round out their D.

Carels + Dupont?
Carels + Rudolph?
Carels + Smith?

Zero chance they get two high enders. Also, sure seems like Carels might not be playing college after his comments.

Don’t see any reason a guy who wants to run offense would go sit behind Verhoeff, especially not 2 of them

for those wondering

Just saw a new IG post - Christian Humphreys committed. Post was 15 minutes ago.
