Grizzlies in peak baby season is always a high bear danger time
I've had closeup encounters with black bears numerous times in Canada trekking to remote lakes. It's a terrifying experience but grizzlies are a whole different ballgame and not an encounter I'd ever want to have even with my Glock 5 and bear spray handy.

Werner Herzog made a documentary film called "Grizzly Man" (2005) about Timothy Treadwell who was an amateur bear enthusiast in Alaska that considered himself an expert. It's a fascinating and tragic story with incredible footage of grizzlies and their dominance in nature's food chain.

It's a bit like Into the Wild in that it's interesting but also very tragic largely because of their own actions. It's been awhile since I've seen Grizzly Man but if my memory is correct, he was largely breaking a lot of rules of the park and interactions with wild animals.

I love black bears. Anything else, keep the hell away from me.

I have a buddy that has a cabin in wisconsin and he hand feeds black bear on his property
