All Things Gophers in NFL Scout/Prospect Bowls

Not to mention the drop on the first pass that they reviewed for a fumble but confirmed the incompletion. Then I don’t think Brosmer had more than 2 seconds without the pass rush immediately in his grill. Ugly ugly game for the West. I couldn’t help but wonder if they tried to install too much from a complex Offense like Bieniemy’s in an all star game with little time (I do get they’re trying to evaluate the players’ ability to transition to the NFL). Defense will have the advantage as long as they’re going hard and I will say that there were some big hits yesterday.

Bummer to hear the game didn’t go well for Max, but the week of practice is more important in these all star games anyway — and the buzz was evident. Lot happens between now and May, but I’d be surprised if Max doesn’t get selected late.

What is with Jah Joyner's helmet. Could Minnesota not afford to give him one?

That helmet is a replica of the helmets worn by the Golden Gophers in their victory over UCLA in the 1962 Rose Bowl!
Thanks for the info. I think a helmet that looks like a minnesota gopher current helmet might be more appropriate. With a national audience might be good for people to know what college team he plays for.

I love the helmet Max Brosmer wore in the East West Shrine Game. Unique and representing!

Some of the players don’t even have their own logos on them anymore. Common for players to exchange logo stickers.

They literally wore those for homecoming this year if you watch the games.

Don't backtrack on your comments. You asked if Minnesota couldn't give him a helmet then you said a current helmet. Those were in the rotation this year

Geez he thanked you for the info. Way to be a dick though.

Did Ersery or Lindenberg even play?

I missed the first quarter, but saw Joyner and Striggow out there.

Striggow made a nice play but then got called for roughing the passer because he put his helmet in the QBs chest instead of just keeping his hands up. Announcers commented on it.

Ersery looked good from what I saw. Opposing edge kept trying to get around him, but Ersery re-routed the guy so the QB could step up,

Striggow and Joyner played a lot. I would have liked to see Ersery play more, but they played the guy from TAM for what seemed most of the game.

I kept looking for Ersery but he wasn't wearing 69, so I followed by finding his helmet. You're right in that he wasn't in there a whole lot, but he looked pretty good from what I saw.

I appreciate everything Lindenberg did for the program but I can’t see him being a pro. Misses a ton of tackles and seemed to get gobbled about by good blockers.
