All Things Gophers Coaching Search Thread (rumors, tweets, tid-bits and more)

I'd like to see at least one win in the tourney--- doesn't change the coach that he is, but losing a game he is favored in doesn't bode confidence.
I mean they are a 1.5 favorite as a 12 seed mostly because Memphis has some injuries. Game is essentially a tossup so not sure I would read a lot into whether they win or lose.

Jay Wright just said on TBS, when Colorado St loses it will be his (Medved) last time coaching for them because he is ticketed to Minnesota.
Crazy how certain everyone seems to be that this is happening. Feel kind of bad for the CSU players but such is life at a mid major.

Some of them can leave for a raise too. Some of them would leave for a raise if Medved stays.

Pitino stayed last year and lost his two best players.

Let's start researching to see if Wright has family in the area or a Grandparent who went to school in the MNSCU system.
I think his wife's sisters second cousins husband's nephew once knew a guy from Minnesota.

I mean it more from a standpoint of you make it to the tournament but most of the talk around your team is about how your coach is almost certainly leaving as soon as you lose.

No doubt. But I'll read positive from a win, nothing negative from a loss.

Well, actually, the guy he knew wasn’t from Minnesota, but he did spend a few months of his summers at a cabin north of the Twin Cities, when he was 12 and 13.

Which of course will do!

I am 100% certain both have job offers already. We are just waiting for them to lose to find out which job offer each accepted and if either is with the Gophers.

Why would you have Tauer on the list? If he was the guy, he'd have been hired last week. Safe to say you can take him off. No chance he's the next Gopher head coach.
Tauer is committed to getting the Tommies to the Tournament when eligible

The in game adjustments in this second half from Medved have been very impressive. There have been a few times where the Rams D switched to a zone which completely confused Memphis.
What is this in game adjustment you talk about? Is that legal?

I agree, smart move in the game. Can Niko bring his entire roster along too?

It's amazing how fast I've talked myself into Medved. A week ago Medved was, "Yeah I guess he might be OK."
I think some talked themselves out of Medved because of the local ties.

He has done a really solid job at CSU and 3 NCAA tournament appearances in past 4 years there is impressive. Memphis is very short handed but Colorado State has been extremely impressive against them in the second half.

Looks like we will have to wait through the weekend to find out if he is Minnesota bound after the tournament ends for them.
