7 hours of US Open Golf coverage yesterday, there was probably about 15-20 minutes of excitement.

Until Saturday, I had never heard of the winner (Spaun), but good for him to bogey 5 of the first 6 holes and fight back to win.
 



Rory McElroy's poor play, attitude and behavior over the last month is a bit concerning for someone that has been a stoic character most of his career. With all of the Amanda Balionas rumors over the last few months, I sense his personal life is taking it's toll on the golf course.
 

I think I am a bigger fan of the 8 Euros playing tomorrow morning as opposed to the 8 Yanks.

I don't think I have been the this unenthused about the Ryder Cup since the early 80s.

I think our collective patriotism as a country has dropped significantly since we've rebranded ourselves as the "Ununited States of America".

On paper, I give a large edge to Europe especially the way Hatton, Big Bob, Fleetwood, Fitzpatrick and Lowry all played towards the end of the PGA season.

And I find it nearly impossible to root for DeChambeau but they'll need him to come up huge for us to have a chance.

For me it's far more about LIV and how it's ripped apart the PGA and European Tours.

I'm down to watching the the 4 Majors and that's it.

The Euros how many live in the US? All but 2, maybe?

Good points. I worked in the golf industry for a dozen years and still have it in my blood.

The entire LIV money grab certainly plays a role and is the primary reason for my disdain of DeChambeau. His pairing with JT should be interesting to watch in the Alternate Shot morning format.

That 1st Match Bryson/JT are going up against a pair of other LIVers, Rahm/Hatton.

At least the 3 of them won't be wearing gear with their stupid LIV franchise logos.

Too much, too soon. Europe is so dominant that it's not even enjoyable to watch. You could see this coming based on the last 90 days of results and performances.

No offense to Scheffler but Fleetwood is the best player on the planet at this very moment.

Scheffler is having a Tiger Woods like performance.

Unfortunately it's the Ryder Cup version of Tiger.

My lack of enthusiasm for this years event has been completely validated.

Euros are turning Bethpage into their personal playground. Sounds like they have just as much fan support too.

Better dressed too. White pants after Labor Day? Losers.

DeChambeau down 5 thru 7 holes to Fitzpatrick. Yikes. What an ass kicking.
 

Then DeChambeau answers with 5 straight birdies.

It's going to be too little...too late, but the Yanks are finally showing a pulse.
 

Bryson, all the way back has gotten his match to level heading into 18 against Fitzpatrick.
 


Come come the USA. Can they pull off the great comeback in Ryder Cup history.
 


Bryson scores a half.

They really needed the full, but a great rally and fun theater.
