Since practice opens tomorrow, thought we should have an all things camp thread for articles, personal observations, insight, rumors, etc (as allowed by Coach Kill :D)

This is two posts now mentioning "brothers". I don't remember that being said in the past, but wonder if the leaders are trying to establish a "fight for your brother" type of mentality. #BrickByBrick #Brothers

Marcus Fuller tweeted that Jephte Matilus is now playing at fullback.

@GophersNow: Sights & sounds from #Gophers 1st practice. Freshmen WRs No. 21 Melvin Holland Jr. & No. 84 Isaiah Gentry in white. http://t.co/1QuYOtWOPd

@JoeCStrib: Maxx, Anwanyu, Goodger, Big Woz and now Gibson, Elmore, etc. -- #Gophers show athleticism, depth at tight end: http://t.co/rU31hwzgsG

They looked big enough to play defensive end and fast enough for wide receiver, but when Maxx Williams and his positional counterparts lined up Friday, they were still technically playing tight end.

One of the most eye-opening sights at the Gophers’ first practice was the tight-end unit, which brims with so much size and athleticism, coach Jerry Kill is looking for ways to get more of them on the field.

By the way, is there another Brick by Brick video series this year?

FSN: Gophers have clear leader in QB Leidner

The Gophers players know the drill now, which is perhaps why Friday's practice -- the first of fall camp -- felt so business-like.

Head coach Jerry Kill is now in his fourth season, so everyone on the roster except the freshmen know what to expect from this coaching staff. And Kill and his cohorts know how to best lead the troops, having led this team to an improved record in each of their first three seasons.

"Each year, you get farther along. These kids have been working all summer," Kill said after the first practice wrapped up at the Gibson-Nagurski Complex after lightning forced the team to move indoors. "We're a lot farther along on the first day than we've been, just because they've been through it before."

I saw a tweet from a video guy that said something to the effect of having to come back to MN to do Brick By Brick. I take that as yes they will have if again.

Great camp report by Burns over at GI. The secondary is going to be fun to watch. He says BBC & Wells are both ready to play. Murray looks explosive as expected. Myrick had the best practice of anyone, making multiple plays including the pick. Said Myrick is very fast. As fast as Berkley Edwards. Yes, that fast. All that & he's a load at 210lbs. Craig James reminds him of BBC.

1. Both papers are rising to cover the Gophers. Marcus gets credit for the series of videos, and the Star Tribune sends Chip over to his old stomping grounds to file a story and provide some tweets. You will know the Star Tribune is all in if Rachel Blount adds her take on the Gophers.

I will believe wells is ready to play once pads go on. Running in a helmet is something he could do before but I need to see him tackle without wincing in pain.

Sounds like the D could very well shut down the pass this year. Remains to be seen if they can shut down the run. Watching Weisman go off again at TCF would be painful.

Hopefully this isn't too serious and Duke makes a speedy recovery.

Devastating for Duke. He worked back so well from previous injury and was ready to break out. Damn.

Sounds like we might have just put the "should G. Elmore switch positions and/or should G. Elmore red-shirt" discussions to bed.
