All Things COVID-19 College Football Impact

You beat me to it.
Pompous is living up to his name and clearly knows more than the physician specialists that reviewed the article and decided it was fit to be published.
No one is saying that it is perfect study. It is not but it is one piece of evidence in the big scheme of things.
In addition to WI PSU just cancelled work outs because of the virus.

Day and his players ask a reasonable question....
Why can other kids play and we cant?
Cincinnati is playing in Ohio
Pittsburgh and Temple are playing in Pennsylvania
Iowa State is playing in Iowa
The governor of Michigan green light high school sports but put the breaks on Mich and Mich St
Notre Dame can play but Indiana and Purdue cant

An explanation at minimum seems reasonable.

Explanation done.

It's not a mystery.

Anish Koka - just a cardiologist (and a clinical instructor), not a scientist
David Malka - GI oncologist (cancer doctor), does have a PhD, but obviously nothing to do with cardio
Venk(atesh) Murthy - cardiologist, no PhD, but is a professor of radiology at Michigan. By far the only qualified to have an expert opinion, out of this bunch.

What the hell is this BS of med schools having "professors" with no PhD?? So weird.

Please share your credentials with the board.

Having trouble supporting your POV again? Do you have any competent refutations for the limitations of this and similar studies? The critics are experts from Mayo, Michigan, Oxford, Pitt, and others.

Furthermore, would competent, compassionate physicians without an agenda (of some sort) intentionally cause panic or at the very least undue psychological stress amongst millions of afflicted COV survivors? The critics would probably say for most of those folks: “this is what we know, this is what we don’t know. At this time we don’t know exactly what this means. Studies are ongoing...here are symptoms to watch for, our plan for you going forward is XYZ.”

He is an MD/PhD. I already told you this the last time you made this dumb argument.

Any arguments? Anything at all? Surely something from Topol or another one of the hysterics.

Or like this guy?

Another dummy chimes in. Should have pulled Plato out of his pre-med Zoom.

So Michigan med school correctly designates only some of their MD/PhD's with their proper earned titles.

From Stewart Mandel:

The authors' conclusion in that study is that it's important to perform cardiac MRIs on all COVID-positive athletes (not just symptomatic) before returning to activities. I believe all conferences competing this fall are now doing that.
So do you really believe that all of the schools in the SEC, B12 and ACC are performing cardiac MRI's on all of the Covid-19 cases? The schools that wouldn't even tell the team of positive cases? The schools with thousands of Covid cases in the student population? The NFL isn't even doing it and the schools that are down playing the risks are no way doing that.

Cardiologists don't do it, either. It's not the normal thing, right now. And they don't want it to be, either. Not until they can better wrap their heads around it and make sure they can control it. Could easily be that these harsh opinions are being decreed from high above...

Once again...uncertain significance, subjective image interpretation, lack of matched controls, and in this case some dishonest or misapplication of the literature, eg citing as correlative evidence studies of clinically symptomatic patients and extrapolating to asymptomatics.

See here for further detail:

PE... you agenda is getting in the way of common sense.

First - you say it isn't true
then you say - it is just some ill-conceived anecdotal comments with no supporting data
then you say - anyone can claim they are a doctor on the internet
then after it has been publish with full peer review you say - that to is subjective, misapplication of the literature, extrapolating, etc...

And you back up your latest defense by quoting some person who claims to be a doctor on the internet....

You are totally unqualified to make any interpretation of the results and backing up your conclusions by posting links to Twitter? give me a fckg break....

It is easy to find a few armchair Dr's that will make a wild guess with their opinions, that does not prove anything.

You are making an absolute fool of yourself.

Ya, if they got it while playing another team, then college football this fall will have issues. He better just go with "party bus" if he wants his team to keep playing.
This come as a surprise to you? Of course they can get it from teammates or opponents during a game.

Because different conferences made different decisions?

Explanation done.

It's not a mystery.

And because the NCAA doesn't really control FBS level football since they lost the CFA lawsuit in the 1980s.

Apparently the player who claims they got it from the other team deleted his tweet....

Also witnesses have said they saw the party bus and limos around campus at the players apartments and etc.

The player who denied it must not have been invited.

We are shocked that a football program with 100-125 people had some positive tests?

Day does realize OSU can get pretty much any HC it wants, right?
You’re making the assumption that Day’s employer doesn’t agree with his sentiments. Frost, Day, and Harbaugh have been the most vocal about this. The presidents at OSU and Nebraska have also been vocal about playing. Pretty sure there is no worry on the part of Day. Harbaugh on the other hand is publicly throwing his employer under the bus.
