All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Hawkey in his radio ad for Radco just said Radco can install ramps that come out when you open your truck door to help you get in. Ramps. For little man short crotch to get into his rig. Imagine that scene on a job site.

Wait what, JJM had the stats last year to be named to the pro bowl😋.

How bout a little Barry to get you jacked for done fall ball on a Friday afternoon in May -

Very excited to see what new DL Coach/Def Run Game Coordinator Ryan Nielsen does with this group of DL, particularly the incoming Big Citrus and Caleb Banks. Nielsen has some serious coaching chops, especially on the Def Line, and he could make this an elite group pretty quickly.

Also hearing that new OL Coach Kevin Carter is already having a positive impact on the OL group, which would be fantastic.

Tom Pelissero says it will be a true competition between JJM and kyler. What a effing Viking shill.

This idiot doesn’t even demonstrate he understands the difference between skill and talent.

And it’s not even close in either department anyhow.

And just so he isn’t forgotten, I pray someday the Vikings can get a WR with as memorable monster blocks as Chris Walsh laid down. Although, some of his hits are why they had to make some changes to prevent those monster hits from occurring anymore

Words of wisdom on schedule expectations from Warren Sharp, as people try to project W/L records for the upcoming season

For what it's worth (not a lot?), the lean of Luke Braun of Locked on Vikings podcast would be Chad Alexander. His speculation is based purely on the fact that among the candidate pool, Alexander is about as far from Kwesi as you can possibly get and let's face it, when you break up with someone, you often land with the antithesis of your ex, no?

Chad Alexander
  • Baltimore Ravens: Pro personnel assistant (1999 to ’02), Scout (’03 to ’08), Assistant director of player personnel (’09 to ’18)
  • New York Jets: Director of player personnel (’18 to ’24)
  • Los Angeles Chargers: Assistant general manager (’24 to present)
Chad Alexander, a Wake Forest graduate, began his NFL career with the Ravens as a pro personnel assistant with the Ravens and spent just over 20 years with the organization—winning two Super Bowl titles (XXXV, XLVII) in the process. He then spent time with the Jets from 2018 to ’23 before landing with the Chargers in ’24, where he spent the past two seasons as their assistant general manager under Joe Hortiz.

As a follow up, if the Vikings focus is on "fixing the draft", his speculation is Terrance Gray (history with the Vikings for quite a while, but a different regime);

Terrance Gray
  • Kansas City Chiefs: Player development coordinator (2003 to ’05)
  • Minnesota Vikings: College scout (’06 to ’16)
  • Buffalo Bills: Front office role (’17 to ’19), assistant director of player personnel (’20 to ’21), director of player personnel (’22 to ’24), assistant general manager (’25)
As Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer pointed out earlier this year, Terrance Gray is “on the doorstep” of becoming a general manager, having interviewed with the Raiders, Chargers, Jaguars and Titans over the past two cycles. He also has familiarity with the Vikings, having spent 11 seasons in Minnesota from 2006 to ’16 as a college scout. Gray began his NFL career in with the Chiefs as a player development coordinator.

Peacock sucks.

Along with NBC Sports and FOX, they are having their NFL inventory expanded for the 2026-27 Regular Season.

After listening to some more deep diving on a few of the candidates, it's really hard not to like Chad Alexander. Based on what I've heard, that would be my guess. Another pod I listened to today indicated their thoughts were two pools;

Likely possibilities: Chad Alexander, McKay, and Terrance Gray

Longshots: the other 3, and Rob B

Interesting that they have decided to cast an even wider net than the original 7 (I think?) that were identified as candidates

Hard to say if this is legit but this is about the time of the NFL schedule release week that we start to see games being leaked here and there.

did the london game last year and it was fun. i don't really see the same attraction to going to Mexico City. Unsure if any have been/are considering it, but i'll be curious to see how viking fans attend it after really showing up for the Dublin and London games
