All Things 2026 Minnesota Vikings Off-Season Thread

Wentz wants to be in Minnesota, he's been with KOC for a year now, and he has seen firsthand what his competition is.

Based on the missed games history of both Murray and JJM, I have absolutely no doubt that Wentz thinks he can at some point be the starter for the Vikings. Why not?

I’m thrilled it’s much more organized than last season and having a rookie like Brosmer behind JJM with his history of injuries to start the season was beyond shortsighted; feels like Rob is doing a good job thus far.

Greenard is still in play for Eagles and Indy and maybe Jerry will get involved as well🤷‍♂️

Can’t wait for the draft

Yikes...that's disgustingly bad. Kwesi made Ryan Poles look like a talent evaluating genius.
not defending him, however, I wonder how much last year’s whiffs contributed and what it was before🤷‍♂️

Andy at Vikings FTW is the only unbiased Viking media talk face in town. Judd Z. Regrettably sold out in 2025 and spouted the purple front office spew. Andy is the man at FTW. Love it when he says Buhhhloney.

That wouldn’t surprise me - maybe it’s easier to run, then eat some humble pie and fight?
The odds of Murray making it through 17 games are what 40%? I'd rather keep McCarthy and let him have one final shot to prove himself. If they can get a 2nd round pick or something, sure. But 3rd or less? I'd keep him.

I agree with you, but maybe he just wants and would be a pouter if they don’t trade him🤷‍♂️.

Seems like he had a pretty easy path to get to the NFL, he may be an entitled kid🤔

I assume they promise Wentz #2 in order to get him to sign. So in that case, they should obviously trade him. But it's a dumb move and they lose all their trade leverage. Wentz would have been there on May 1st if they traded JJ during the draft.

Who knows if other teams see it this way as well?

JJM’s reaction may have been specific to Wenz signing.

Dougie could be wrong - it’s not like it’s Lewis or Seifert,

Thru could tell him to Frickin bad, if it is accurate. JJM has zero leverage himself, no one’s going to sign. FA like him on a decent team with mediocre stats and reports of him immaturity, which Lewis said was well known throughout the league as a least.

I'd give JJM's agent the permission to seek a trade and not to report back until he's secured a 2nd Round Pick from another team.

Seriously, I could see Harbaugh and the Chargers having some interest with their history at Michigan. By all accounts, we'd be lucky to get a 4th Round Pick for JJM and I'd rather just hold on to him at this point if that's all we can get for him.

Of course, Spielman could've turned that 4th rounder into six (6) 7th rounders...

That works for me

Good point mythical.

Agreed

Naturally 😎

I spent some time today in Reddit Vikings. Are all nfl fan bases this mean spirited toward the team they cheer for? It’s brutal.

Current Rumors & Key Developments

The Kyler Murray Impact: The Vikings signed Murray to a one-year deal in March 2026, which many pundits believe effectively installs him as the definitive QB1.

Crowded QB Room: With Murray and Wentz ($3 million deal) both on the roster, experts like Mike Florio and Chase Daniel suggest McCarthy’s days in Minnesota may be numbered as he likely slides to QB3 on the depth chart.

Performance Concerns: Rumors are fueled by McCarthy's struggling 2025 sophomore season, where completed only 57.6% of his passes with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions and proceeded to put up some of the worst analytical numbers the past 20 years going back to JaMarcus Russell.

Internal Sentiment: Reports indicate the Vikings' leadership is no longer committed to McCarthy as the long-term solution, especially after the firing of former GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Reports suggested Kevin O’Connell tried to sign Kyler Murray to a long-term contract

I'd rather have someone like Deebo Samuel if he's OK with being #3.
Agreed...Deebo still has some juice left. He'd be a nice fit actually but probably still looking for a big payday.
