All Things 2026 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Wow. Must have been a Ryder Cup atmosphere at Target Field.

Options are Budweiser, Bud Light & Summit Twins Pilsner. I can work with that.

You can't embrace the running game unless you get on base. Brutal hitting.

Culpepper with 2 HR today. Lee’s time is almost up.

Mario Mendoza (lifetime average of .215) takes umbrage at this comment. He thinks you should speak with the likes of Mickey Gasper or DaShawn Keirsey.
Team futility is much more impressive in the committee’s opinion😎

Here’s at least some ((most?) of the answer to your lament - Southpaws per Gleeman’s article in the Athletic today.

Twins' OPs production versus lefties

2019.8721
2020.65827
2021.72522
2022.70121
2023.72619
2024.73211
2025.70514
2026.53027
2020-26.71121

Unfortunately, 8 of the next 16 starters we’re scheduled to see are Mr. Driesell’s progeny and this if the what we offer in futile resistance -

Production versus lefties since 2023
(Note: wRC+ is scaled so 100 represents league-average production.)

Gray and Keaschell not listed as they don’t have enough ABs for statistically relevant data.

Byron Buxton hits 10 Years of MLB Service with Minnesota as 1st or only franchise, becoming the 14 to do it with the Twins. Those that started with Washington counted.

Really cool how much this meant to him. Here's the list Byron joins:

Harmon Killebrew
Kirby Puckett
Kent Hrbek
Rod Carew
Joe Mauer
Gary Gaetti
Tony Oliva
Bob Allison
Eddie Guardado
Randy Bush
Jim Kaat
Glen Perkins
Brad Radke

The only 2 that surprised me were Gaetti and Guardado. The G-Man got credit though for his cup of coffee in 1981 starting at the Met and he played through the 1990 campaign as a Twin.

I would have guessed Tim Laudner made it, but he was 1 season short (1981 - 1989).

Joe Ryan is undermining his trade value.

The twins challenges were amazing tonight.

Non critical pitch by Larnach in the first and Bell in a 0-0 count in the third.
