All Things 2026 Minnesota Twins In-Season Thread

Lewis is back off the IL anc in the lineup batting 8.
With SWR pitching tonight, my guess is Gray gets sent down tomorrow and Prielipp gets added and starts tomorrow.

Looks like the Mets are happy to see the Twins in town. 3-0 after 3

SWR reminds me too much of Gibson. Nibble, nibble, nibble. Pound the effing strike zone!!!

Impressive come from behind W and beating a good pitcher.

Nice to see the pen do their job well.

Mets Sux😃. 12 consecutive Ls.

No team that lost 12 in a row has ever made the play-offs....

In my life watching/listening to Twins games on radio & TV I do not ever recall a former player on the broadcast crew who I could not remember anything about their time in MLB. That goes back to Frank Quilici.

Tonight the 3rd man on the field & dugout was Anthony Recker. Zero recollection.

He was never a Twin, though he was at AAA Rochester for brief stint in 2017, after appearing in 7 MLB Seasons.

Get to know him...

I suspect he just happened to be available as a freelancer. He also subs in on Mets games.

I look forward to adding him to my New Player Roster on the Immaculate Baseball Grid.

Cheap Pohlad's won't pay to fly an on field reporter to NYC.

We can't have nice things...

Just inflammation, per Hayes’ column this morning.

Best case for Abel

When Mick Abel reported soreness after throwing a bullpen, the Twins sent him for an MRI on Sunday. They weren’t overly concerned based on their physical exam but wanted peace of mind, and they received it when the procedure showed Abel is dealing only with light inflammation in his right elbow.

Rather than push Abel, the Twins placed him on the injured list Monday.

“We felt like if we aggressively treat it, get him on some anti-inflammatories and play it safe on the front end, it’ll be something that will be relatively quick and short,” general manager Jeremy Zoll said. “We didn’t want to try to chase it and then make it potentially worse later by trying to prolong this.”

Or the did him a solid by getting him some work/paycheck in his pocket, increased exposure and more film for his audition roll🤷‍♂️

That's plausible as I don't really see this 3rd guy on the field as essential for a mid-April game on the road.

If they had gone with the 2 man crew only (Denard Span), none of the thousands in the Twins.TV audience would have realized anything was missing.

At one point they showed Denard Span running down a Recker fly ball to deep center while Span played for the Giants. Denard said, "I forgot you played for the Braves." You're ahead of me Denard. I had no idea he played for anybody.

Yeah, that was the exchange which started me on the Who is Anthony Recker? research path.

You never know 🤷‍♂️

Especially as I vault towards 60, I try to give people the benefit of the doubt; it’s an easier way to live.

My mother turns 88 in early June and is a happy old person. Despite having a knee & hip replacement and gallbladder removed in the last five years. Conversely, there’s been other elders in my family who were more on the miserable end of the spectrum and that’s not my intended path🤞

For all we know Recker could have been filling in for someone.

Also plausible as they are under umbrella for MLB.TV/ESPN perhaps it was directed or suggested by an entity besides the Twins for any number of reasons.

Good on your Mom for having great spirits despite those physical challenges.
