Novak is in a really weird spot. He’s clearly #3 in the world, there’s a drop to #4. But there’s a huge massive jump to top 2 that he wont get to again. And he knows he can’t ever beat them again in best of 5. And Novak only cares about winning Slams at this point in his career. So what do you do? Hope they both get injured at same time, or retire as 3rd best player on planet? It’s a unique position to be in. I’m guessing next year is his last.

Amazing how quickly after the Big 3 ended, the Big 2 emerged. This will be a legendary rivalry. I really hope Shelton can get him in the conversation. He’s our best hope.
