All Things 2025 Playoffs and Bowl Thread

Cignetti is a huge weirdo nerd too, so I suppose him and Mendoza go together like peas and carrots. A great team.
These comments coming from a fan base of the Gophers who have endured Fleck’s commentary for the last decade.

My wife has a good friend who has a son at Indiana. After the B10 championship game there was a student rally with the team and head coach, and she asked him if he was going to go. He said he was not, and when asked why not he replied that all those with cignetti have the feeling of a church revival meeting…way too preachy.
Good god.
Like we have room to talk.
RTB, FAMILY, socially, spiritually, yada yada yada.

I’m not a religious man but I’d be willing to make a sacrifice to the deity of anyone’s choice to experience what Indiana has this year.

There's a lot of that in college football. That old time religion is a big part of some of these player's lives ... recruiting.

We may find out what they did in the next few years ... Curt vanishes ... plagues of frogs across Indiana...

The son maybe needs to put down the game controller and leave his dorm room occasionally.

I quite enjoy Indiana's peak nerdiness. If Mendoza keeps copying Will Farrell's character in The Other Guys in interviews, it's A-OK with me.

Yeah there's something almost endearingly silly about his camera presence....
They’re just not doing him any favors professionally. When he’s probably the number one pick in the NFL draft in April, he can’t look like an amateurish clown. He doesn’t have to be an emotionless cyborg like he’s the next Belichick, but he does need to know where to look. That’s interviewing 101.

If there's a team out there drafting QBs based on how good they look on TV ... madness.

He has been trained plenty on the words, just not the etiquette

Ooh. My mind hadn't gone in that direction. You might be right. Kind of like Tommy in Oh Brother Where Art Thou selling his soul to the devil.

He’s certainly able to speak intelligently, although he tends to be a bit loquacious. But those interviews do yield better insights than the Bull Durham “I’m just here to help the team” approach.

"Hot damn son! I believe you did sell your soul to the devil!"

Holy fuck stockton just got annihilated on that pass. If someone hit Mahomes like that they’d be banned for life from the nfl
